My suggestion is that if a player attacks and does not make a significant effort to make it a worthwhile attack, they win a very large number of trophies as a penalty. Looking at the attack log and seeing attack after attack by one troop with 0 resources lost is unnerving. You can determine the level of destruction needed, but any attack with no more than one troop is an automatic win. That will restore the trophies to what the game designers originally intended by bringing the more powerful players with a low trophy count back to having a higher trophy count so that they are attacked by other powerful players with high trophies. Multiplayer battles should be between two relatively even matched forces. Thank you for your consideration.
This wont work. People who want to gain trophies can climb too easily. High trophy league is a reward for good clashing, not dropping one troop.

They could make it that dropping 1 troop is neither a win or a lose. you need to drop x amount of troops would be a better way (eg if you can hold 200 you need to drop 50 etc)

personally. I leave a gold storage out so people raid me with one troop. it gives me those trophies while I sleep so that when I farm and lose trophy's I don't drop too many leagues

each to their own, but I think its fine how it is

    Pretty sure that's dropping trophies...

Because if you were at trophies appropriate for your base then you wouldn't gain 400 trophies overnight.
There are plenty of people who have low trophies and that's fine. They just live with the fact that their bases will see trophy droppers. How is this such a big deal to you?

    Problem solved IF?

I can only thing of one way to solve this problem. Yes, many player like to attack well below their league to get easy instead of using 30-60min armies or boosting to get resources. My suggestion is to make a minimum trophy level for each town hall. this way any player who wants to push for higher leagues bonuses can't complain for getting bullied and this would reduce the amount of high level players dropping hundreds of trophies to farm super easy bases with barch.

The 5 star system was partly created to prevent players from hiding in lower trophy gutters. They make little bonus loot down there.
