Who are you? We are The Old Guard (#2LVRGQ8U) a UK-based (but international), adults-only clan, looking for new members.
I'm Boof and I've been here since the start since I, naively, as Bronze League III thought: "I'll start my own clan, that seems fun...". Since then we've been around the block a few times and learned a lot. Where we are now is Level 6, with some cool perks and around 25 members and we win around 80% of our clan wars. Do you war? Do we!?! We war constantly (searches on Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays) at 8-9pm UK time. As with most clans you are expected to make both your war attacks using only your best troops and a castle full of (usually) even better troops you'll get from your clan mates.
Unlike all clans, we plan wars carefully (we really like winning). Often we'll go for "Attack your opposite" but we also mix up attack plans and strategies. The aim is to win but also to learn from every war. Things like making your first attack in the first 8hrs are standard for us - so we can plan the 2nd wave of attacks more effectively.
Yeah, yeah... standard... so what's special about The Old Guard? We're a great community and we help each other. We have folk from all over - the US, UK, Iran even Hawai'i! We want you to get better - better at base design, better at raid strategy, better at war tactics - all that. We favour the TH x.5 approach (broadly, favouring troop upgrades over defences) but we want to help you get better. As each of us gets better the clan gets stronger, so you'll get lots of great advice, tips and feedback.
We share raid replays a LOT and critique one another's attacks, so it's hard not to learn in The Old Guard.
We're also really big on communication - if you want to join you'll need to download the Kik messenger service (kinda like WhatsApp, but more anonymous - we want to talk not stalk!). War orders are sent in Clan Mails so a cr*ppy misplaced attack because "Oh, I didn't read the clan mail" will get you kicked.
How can I apply? "That sounds amazing Boof, I want in! How do I apply?" - great that you should ask. First up, some no-nos. Do not apply if you are under 18, rushed in any way or not very active (we define "active" as online at least once a day). You also have to be Town Hall 7 or above.
Assuming you're accepted we'll need to see a replay of you attacking a base around your own level, using war-level troops - so we know how you war/attack (and where you may need some help etc.)
