My current base has worked for the longest time but recently I've had a LOT of resources and been attacked by much higher levels (20-30 higher than me). I need a design that protects all resources equally.

There is no way to protect all your resources equally. However, you can protect DE and Gold equally at the expense of elixir. Check out the TH8 design thread in general for some great designs.
