I don't want to be inflammatory, nor do I wish to say any of this is fact, it is only my thoughts on the inactive account disappearing from matchmaking "bug".
i personally don't believe this is a bug, but an intentional tactic to make loot harder to find, hence more gems being spent on the game. I think this because a "bug" exactly like this occured in 2012... Also at the end of November/December holiday season. Here is a link to a post describing the exact same issue: http://forum.supercell.net/showthrea...atchmaking-Bug!
I believe this occurs everytime SuperCell wants a boost in revenue, only that this time, with the major changes to th sniping, league bonuses ect. it was significantly more evident and the cumulative effects of the change in game mechanics together with hiding bases was noticed more quickly and severely.
if not I would urge SC to have a hard look at the code and prevent this from happening again.
just my 2 cents.
Why make things difficult with changing the concept of the game yet again? So people are struggling getting loot, as am I, just increase the overall output of the collectors to what they are once they are gemmed. Since gem special my maxed out and gemmed collectors have been getting me as much loot as from attacking or war bonus. And next time you want to do a gem special well that can just increase the collectors that much more. The 5 star bonus just seems strange and the loot cart sounds like something from Hayday. If i wanted to play Hayday.... well... that's what I'd do. And i dont want to play Hayday. Keep it simple, significantly increase collector output and quit changing the concept of the game.
But it would have the opposite effect.
People are only going to spend gems on boosting barracks if there is loot there to be found. Nobody is going to waste gems if they are not fairly sure they will be able to get a decent amount back for the cost.
It is not uncommon for similar bugs to re-occur - or even sometimes the exact same bug if there is a slip up in change control.I think this because a "bug" exactly like this occured in 2012.
Thanks TerMinus Prime for the sig pic
Thats true, nobody will spend gems if loot cant be found, but as I said in my post, I think the change in the game mechanics had a much bigger effect than they anticipated. Yes maybe they wanted to "decrease" loot a little, not realizing it would be as severe as it was.
Why am I not surprised by this nonsense. This is overly complicated and unnecessary, just like the personal break system (which is the silliest idea I've ever seen in a game....Kicking people off your game?) I wish SC would stop trying to be clever and introduce cute little features to the game, and start taking care of actual problems. Shame on you guys.
I will try the stuff they are trying to do, I'm just getting to grips where I can get some progress, not perfect, I'm an average player, don't spend all day on the game, iwon2000 gems thanks to people dumping cups on me so the gem boost is kind of free, when that goes im not going to buy any more, it's not really down to the way the game is more about how let down I felt after the update, I'm not sure minor changes in the game are going to change that feeling.
As an engineer, I was taught that the best design isn't achieved when there is nothing left to add, it's when there is nothing left to take away. I.e. the simplest design that gets the job done is the ideal. Supercell flips that on its head, and just keeps adding more and more stupid shyt to their game, and it's making it worse and worse with each iteration. Stop already! Just stop.
I totally agree with OP. I told my clan mates about the loot cart, the treasury, and the new things of the upcoming upgrade. They kept asking questions: are they new buildings?, this and that. I tried to explain as best as I could, they kept asking questions... and saying it was too complicated.
Why to add so many complicated changes to a game that was so beautiful in its simplicity? There's no need for it. Forumers keep giving so much better solutions to the problems created with the Dec update. Listen to your players SC! Keep it simple!
BTW, I love the quest concept of the star bonus. I wish SC would get in this trend instead, developing real quests, Mastermind style.
Another urgent fix to the Dec update is the need to have an on/off button for the CC; or two different kinds of troops, offensive and defensive. The war cc troops keep being decimated because of lack of shield. This creates serious problems in wars. Please SC address this issue asap. Thank you!
