Many good points here. What the December update and the proposed tweaks leave in the cold is affording players the choice of how they wish to play. Choice..... That's what made this game so successful over the last 3 or so years. Hardcore, whales, semi-casual, casual, war, and every player type in between. We could all play the game at our own pace, and indeed change that pace when we wanted. You wished to speed things up, you gemmed barracks for boosted raiding... Gemmed upgrade build times, gemmed resources. I've done a lot of gemming over the last three years.... More than most, less than some... But it was always my choice. The December update has really made the range of choice of game play very limited. It feels like if you want to progress, you have to buy and use gems. Whether you are a casual or a more active player u are compelled to use gems.
The proposed loot vault and loot cart system may also not be as great as it sounds on paper... Especially to the casual player who if they have decent loot in their storages will get rolled again and again...bleeding to death from a thousand cuts. But wait says supercell.... You will have the loot cart and cc loot storage....picture this though.... how can a casual player accumulate and keep enough loot to upgrade a wizard tower to lv9 (th11)? Only if the combined total amount of loot that can be saved in the loot cart and clan castle approaches the 8.56million gold needed (obviously using some loot in normal storages). My maxed lv6 clan castle only holds 2.6million gold..... Get the picture? Somehow I doubt SC will allow the total capacity of these loot retention systems to facilitate such loot numbers for major upgrades.
I can and have played as the game was intended to be played up until the ability of my "weak" hero levels on my th10 account. Champs 1 achieved - after the update.... So no th sniping. Was it enjoyable? Nope. Did I accumulate large amounts of loot? Nope. Did I improve my war army attacking skills, yes.... But that is what clan wars are for. At least it was. Like a lot of people, I hate feeling pressured into playing a game in a certain way - especially after playing with th snipe for 3 years. Th snipe was a pseudo form of loot vault... But it was not foolproof. Sometimes you were found by someone with a strong enough army and they would take the lot... Regardless of an exposed th. It was luck of the draw.
i honestly hope that I am wrong about my misgivings for the mentioned tweaks with the loot cart etc. unless the casual players of this game are catered for.... This game is doomed... If the casual players move en-mass to other games... All that will be left are the active sharks... Feeding off each other.... What fun!
As the great BB King once sung.... The thrill is gone baby!
