I Like what you did there, pretend like you can drop 2k for a night on the town, so you can look like you can afford to spend money on coc if you wanted to, but you choose not to. Anyone who plays this game a lot and has disposable cash, buys gems. You are either broke, bought a lot of gems or are a th7/8. Nice try though.
Or perhaps I place a higher value on getting inebriated and am patient enough to wait out upgrades.
Ok, since Jan 2013 ive spent $1221.72 Aus on clash.
But, heres my take on it. I'm a mom of 3 and clash is the only game ive ever played. I dont drink or smoke. I dont go out to fancy cafes or restraunts with friends every week for cafe latte's.
I dont buy myself expensive clothes or have a wardrobe full of shoes or handbags.
So, now and then when i see that itunes cards are 20% off while im doing the grocery shopping, i buy myself one.
When my sister or a friend give me an itunes card for my birthday or Christmas, i'd use it on clash.
I enjoyed clash so if i want to spend money on it, i will.
However, i havent spent a cent since the update, even though i have a $20 itunes card in my purse.
I wont be spending another cent either. I still play but i'll spend my $ elswhere now

I've spent a good chunk of $$ too, but to be honest I'm ok with it. It was fun, I loved those boost sessions and chatting away with the clan for a couple of hours each day. I always knew I could either sacrifice my whole day to raiding or sacrifice my money for some boost sessions. I've enjoyed it, I could afford it, so I'm not bitter about it.
Having said that I'm done spending money on this game. The way the community was treated after the update left a sour taste in my mouth. The 1 gem temp 'fix' I find an insult, you don't break the game and then ask the people to use their gems to fix it while you work on a permanent solution a month or so later.
While I'm progressing just fine, although at a slower pace, my clan is pretty dead. People do not get on for hours anymore. There's no need when you can attack through the shield for one and boosting big armies are just not worth it. I'll plug along but my days buying gems are over too.
Almost maxed th9(all def and lab) 25 lavas to go AQ 27 bk 25.
Haven't bought gems, Ever! Each update is more disappointing than the previous. Said to myself I would if I enjoyed the content. Big strike out for Supercell.

I nearly had heart failure at how much I was spending. I averaged it to $2 a day. While I am happy to spend $2 to have fun, I'm not having as much fun so I am not willing to spend that much anymore. I am not going to spend $2 for it to be stolen by a maxed th 9 crashing through my th 8 base.
