Break my Shield? Never!

Just to explain intentions and reality, Supercel tried to make it better by allowing you to attack through shield, In reality a shield became so valuable, most never break it. I know i used to avg 20 attacks a day, and yes some were snipes, i broke my shield at will, but now that a shield is costing me north of 200k of each plus dark, i always ride out full 12 hours. It is impossible to herd cats, and also impossible for Supercel to make everyone march in lockstep. The most popular and profitable game app in history, you would think they would be happy and strive to keep a good thing going. They probably thought they were, but with such a huge outcry, i would expect perhaps a little trepidation if not outright panic. All we can see is........a bad response (real chief), no response, and a tepid we are monitoring.

Its not just looting, its not just retaining, its not just shields being to valuable, its not just sniping, its everything. You fundamentally changed your game in a very radical and fast way, believing you were making the game as intended. Its not as intended, its not as it was, its radically different. Is it any wonder in hindsight the reaction to the update?

Shields are an important commodity now to not lose or reduce, best to still ride it out..

Yeah back when I had my TH outside I almost never thought twice about breaking my shield. It was automatic. Only if I was very close to an upgrade would I not.

Now I tend to ride out my shield completely on my TH8. Maybe one attack if I catch it when it's fresh. On my lower accounts I'll attack through the shield because the amount I can get through raiding will get me an upgrade. when you have to save up for something big though I don't break the shield unless I have no choice.

There was genuine excitement for this update. A new TH, new hero, new defense, maybe some new troops. Once the previews went up I urged my clanmates to max infernos asap as it became obvious this update was radically changing the game. My anticipation was turning to dread, and hoping this would turn out alright. It didnt for the vast majority. Im ok being a maxed 10, but it decimated my fellow clanmates and by the response here, many more. I hope u do something quick, the point of no return is fast approaching.

Please dont say they need time and a plan........look what happened when they took their time and had a plan

depends. i break my shield if i know i can attack 3 times within the 12hr time frame. but if not, i ride it out. still more profitable for me to attack through shield rather than riding it out. 30% buldings outside along with the TH helps in getting shields for around 80-100K only. sometimes less.

As a casual player, I will break my shield on weekends when I can attack three times. During the week? Not a chance. The shield is much too valuable now. Pre-update I would break my shield multiple times per day without it phasing me.

Since the update i had a shield 2 times ! I know that they dont want me to be in silver ( max th10 on way to 11) but i dont care about cups. I am. more happy to get a shield than a gembox lol I would never break a shield as it is so rare it became a myth :-) .

I aim to attack during the day when my shield is up and I'm on the guard time. I typically use up my shield at night as I would want a full shield when I sleep. I think you need to attack twice a day at the end of the shield times to keep up but it's quite a chore.

I had 6 hours on my shield this morning. After my usual coffee, I just let it drain until under 1 hour left. Was a weird feeling riding out a shield like that.
