Don't need to be original, when the point has already been made. Why are we talking about originality though, when this is the 100th thread about the same topic, albeit a week late?
Other "original" comebacks/insults:
"Kneepads"
"...moms basement"
"Wipe off your mouth"
You must be following me because you've missed my point entirely. I made no claims that the time between SC's acquisition and the dec update is what gave the update its form.
I expressed my disbelief that SC was in any real trouble at the moment of said acquisition because it took over 2 years for a game changing update. You love strawmen dude.
Are you really suggesting big business cares about things other than money? Every action is heavily scrutinized to ensure it improves the bottom line. Doesn't mean they're successful, but the intention remains nevertheless. One brief example is charitable contributions. This merely creates goodwill for the company, positive associations for customers.
Secondly, have a little respect for the consumer. We are not(you and I included) dumb. We can sniff out obvious attempts for cash grabs. Your above mentioned banners being one of them. Companies have to be more creative and delicate. Fortunately our well-being is a necessary consideration for the devs if they want to, key word here, maximize profits.
I really really wasn't trying to be rude man. I was expressing genuine doubt. Partly why I left it as a question. I could entertain that the market falsely believed CoC was becoming stale, and Softbank correctly knowing it had years before it needed major changes, for example.

*crickets*
And on that note I'm going to try to sleep.
Just saying i have been playing since clash first came out and there has been a clear shift in the game since the acquisition.
Ask yourself this, if it wasn't about profit then why the need to remove dead bases?
If it wasn't about profit, then why do the boosts this year as 1 gem per collector for 24hrs rather than 1 gem per collector for 7 days as they did last year?
I'm sorry bud, but you can't tell me profit isn't their #1 priority. They invested in a company and expect a profitable return or they never would have dumped the money that they have into said product; that would be bad business.
My gripe is that they have not made any effort to find a balance between player satisfaction and profit. They seem more geared towards maintaining enough players to generate revenue rather than enriching the game experience for their loyal following. That's what has me fired up
I could care less about the loot situation or the PBT neither have affected me negatively, I adapted my farming strategy and it has paid off tremendously.
What pisses me off is the way this entire update was handled, zero regard for the user community, zero accountability for the things they broke FOR WEEKS and no apparent desire to make amends.
Ask yourself this: Would you continue to shop at a retail store that treated you like this?
