someone takes from you 400k you rearm your base and lose more then you prepare an army that costs 400k to get those 400k back see this is exactly the reason why beeing raided is bad not because you cant get them back but because you need to spend even more to get some back ..... ahhh and if you happen to fail then it is more frustrating

Fo us already maxed bases things are ok but can't imagine myself restarting coc need 5 years to get to where I am

My defenses are almost done. And I have been attacked without getting a shield exactly zero times since the update. I am in champs league (where TH10's belong). A TH9 in masters will have the same experience and I imagine a TH8 in crystal will also have the same experience. Getting attacked without getting a shield is pretty much only a problem for people that are hiding in leagues well below where their town hall should be found.
You must have never heard/used goblins then. Guess what? Take a look around the forums because they're starting to become more of a thing now (along with the superqueen) if you haven't noticed, and for a good reason. Oddly enough these players (who think outside the box really) can throw down a minimal amount of elixir (and training time) with a few giants/goblins (and 1 heal or rage), hit your collectors and/or a couple of storages there after and easily underscore less than 30% damage and still make a 3x to 5x profit from your base (and yes, that's without their league bonus because they don't need it). And depending on how skilled they are and how many times they feel like attacking with this setup you can progress much quicker than your typical balloonions/gibarch/whatever else war army that takes 1-2 hours or more to train.

Who loses here? The unlucky ones who don't get a shield afterwards and here is the thing: it doesn't take much loot at all to cover such a cheap/fast army. Were you not aware?

Sorry but you are wrong - jump spell and then goblins will go straight to storage

I bet most active people, prior to the Super Farming Nerf update were gaining much more than they were losing too.

The abandoned bases put so much loot into the economy, that we actives didn't stress when we would get hit with a 3 star raid.

However, now all the non Active bases are pulled from the queues after a couple of days, and we are now forced to devour each other for a zero sum gain. Yes some people are still successfully making in game progress, but they are either spending more time and or gems to do it.

The increase in commitment to progress is the main source of frustration, in my opinion.
It isn't even a zero sum game much of the time.... many raids result in more DE, elixir or both being destroyed via armies and defense than is replaced through the win bonus. For these attacks, a raid is a net negative.

and if you use up 200k+ doing it? puts you at a loss the dead bases were perfect cause nobody cared if the loot was taken from them and it costed very little making it very profitable

If looting is going to be part of the game, you have to face up to the tradeoff.

The only alternative is to just do away with looting altogether. Just give rewards for smashing stuff.

    Theres two reasons.

The first being that the profit from the raid = amount looted MINUS the cost of troops.

So the cost of raiding leaks elixir and de from the system. So the net result is that the amount of loot available to raid decreases.

(if there were only 2 players raiding each other constantly eventually both would run out of elixir and de. That's essentially what seems to be happening at high th level. (Rather than mearly the sniping many are blaming)

The second is a well know part of human psychology. People feel the emotion of something lost far harder than the same value if it was gained (Somewhere between 4 and 10x depending on circumstance. As shown by a huge number of psychological research studies)

So you would need to gain an absolute 4x minimum to 'feel' like you are winning.

Unfortunately the shield system only allows a maximum of 4 attacks for the most part (inevitably at least one of those will fail. even if you had the chance to fight constantly. Also people have to work and sleep) Therefore people 'feel' like they are losing. Hence the widespread DISSATISFACTION with the shield system. No matter the economic reality. People feel like they are losing.

Supercell need some lessons in human psychology. Playing a game is supposed to feel rewarding.

But it explains why supercell say the numbers are fine. But yet real players feel like they are losing.

The problem is when you are getting raided time after time and not gaining a shield under the new rules, I was sitting on 6 Million elixir and lost close to 600000 in the space of a 3 hour break and still no shield, and the main problem is my collectors (which are maxed) only produce just over 500000 in 24 hours, I'm losing more in 3 hours than i can produce in 24.

And how long do you think people will continue to play if they are losing?

Like I said earlier with the new system half the population is on the losing end and who in their right mind is going to continue to play a game that continue to lose at and don't progress?

SC and some of the people on here have forgotten that this is a game it's supposed to be fun, a way to unwind.

Still don't understand the perceived anger / annoyance of league placement with some members (highlight above). Seen other words like "coward" and "losers" for those that adopt this tactic.
