Sociologic Standpoint:
Definition of Terms:
Acting crowd: (noun) A group of people focused on a shared action or goal.Example: Protesters at a rally.
Mob: : a largegroup or crowd of people who are angry or violent or difficult to control
After the update, many people were dissappointed or mad or both because of the update. Many people were pointing out the problems with the update while others were happy with the update. The forums became a debate floor between pro and anti updates. A few days came, then a few weeks came and still no response from Supercell. People were quiting while some are tenacious and claymored for game balancing or a revert for the update. Dead silence was the reply from supercell. People were really hungry for a response from supercell.
Then came tweets from prominent youtubers about some news to be released within a few hours. People became excited that perhaps their claymore had been heard. Based on the past forum threads, people were misled with the release of the new game. This in fact was the last thing I also expected. Even with different development teams, the last thing you would expect is a release of a new game. Yes nobody can deny that there are still numerous problems in COC(not just the loot). The timing of the release of SC's new game is simply and insanely out of timing. This perhaps was the breaking point that turned the acting crowd into a mob. People weren't mad at Supercell. People became mad at supercell and anybody or anything who and which was affiliated with supercell ( Youtubers and the new game). Critical thinking and sound judgement had been lessened ( i.e. people claiming to download the new game just to give a 1 star rating).
SC's response was simply to pacify the mob. Why tell the people that they are listening now when they could have told the people that they were listening two weeks ago or they were listening the whole post update period- because people are ticked in a whole new level that's why. Furthermore, no plausible solution/s has yet been layed on the table by supercell. Only that they are looking on how players can hold on to their loot.
On a sidenote, kindly place your opinions on 2 prominent youtubers, one allegedly on the side of the anti-update and the other youtuber who said "adopt or quit". Anti and pro are always welcome to reply.
