You have lvl 4 hogs, hog the ♥♥♥♥ out of that base. Forget about gowipe, that is a noob strategy for players that never came out of gowipe neverever land and don't know other more effective great strategies

There is no question I'd hog the ♥♥♥♥ out of that base (as I do with ~95% of all TH8 war bases).

I'd probably start my run at ~6:00 with about, say, 15 hogs and a heal, then surgical around the base (as GB or DGB are unknown and can be in many places in the core). If, however, it's a clean attack and/or I have a good idea of where the GBs are located, then I often 2-finger drop hogs and roll 'em that way.

Army would be something like 2 wiz, 2 barb/arch and 43 hogs. It's almost hard to miss on a TH8 if you know what you are doing with hogs, as poison the CC makes it elegant when dealing with the CC & 43 pi$$ed off, often healed, L4 hogs overwhelm TH8s. And it's a lot of fun most of the time as well, which, let's not forget, is supposed to be the entire reason we all play this cursed/stupid game!

At this time, I very much have settled in on 2 wizards. Hogs group up and I often find it very, very handy to place wiz on opposite side(s) of where the hogs were to start cleaning before the hogs are even done destroying all defenses.

They are quite useful in killing the CC dragon after a lure with 1 or 2 hogs.

But if he failed it was either because he pathed his hogs into G-bombs, didn't deploy the heals properly, forgot to lure the cc, got wiped by skellies, had the king take out too many of his hogs or just bad luck.
