I watched Pats video this morning and thought it was very honest, well thought out and well articulated video about how he feels and what he has seen on the forums and what people have told him about the issues with the update. Did anyone else watch the SC interview he did about Clash Royale? He spoke to Jonas and asked him about CoC and Jonas said they are still focusing on CoC.

I personally think the way people speak on this forum (not all but a lot of people) is disgusting. You dont like the update? Boo hoo. Dont play the game. You dont like the youtubers? Boo hoo. Dont watch their videos. The thing people have to understand is SC are a company. Companies are there to make money. Without the community, which apparently they dont care about, they dont make money. CoC has always been about making a game that is enjoyable and playable in the long term. I think they have achieved it. Some people dont like the inability to TH snipe. I am one of them but I have just simply started raiding my loot and I am moving through my walls faster than before.

Pat's video voiced a lot of the same concerns the community and this forum have voiced. What does he get? He gets abused and disregarded. Its pathetic. Is it any wonder SC dont want to engage with the forums when there is so much vitriol and childish behaviour. They havent communicated with us or the youtubers like Pat and Galadon. Why? Maybe a little holiday the nordic countries take very seriously called christmas? Maybe, just maybe they are working on something for the next update? We have an update every month generally and 2 maybe 3 big updates a year with a new troop or def?

Its been 3.5 weeks since the biggest update ever in CoC. No its not perfect but we have had a nerf of the skeletons and a couple of other glitch fixes in that time since. Which shows they are working on the game.

At the end of it all SC will make the game they want to make. Nothing anyone does moaning on forums or whatever is going to change that. I repeat again. Dont like the game anymore? Go play something else. Simple as. Just dont spend your time being mad at a company that makes a free to play game.

I'm sorry and feel free to drop me in the 'Moron' camp but stuff like this just legitimises Supercell's failure to engage with the fan-base. By posting childish abuse you simply give them excuses for failing to respond. If your anger is voiced in a calm and measured way then you leave them no wriggle room for failing to answer you.
If you post this they can rightly point at these comments and say - 'You want us to respond to this?'

I call them morons because that's what they are. Any adult with any sense could foresee the major backlash they would get. I was on the forums telling people to stop hyping what they were saying. Guess what their main fan base is probably an 11-17 year old demographic. So of course they took what they were saying and ran with it. Fact is they deserve all the hate and backlash they got. You can say the words I use invalidate or point negatively on me, but quite frankly I don't care.

There is hundreds if not thousands of reasonable posts thrown to the wasteland. The point is I ,unlike you, won't defend these guys for clearly not being any resemblance of professional. They should be more careful, and maybe then I'd treat them with any respect. Until then, I can say they have no idea the weight of their voice to all the kids who play. And they pretty much looked like tools.

I think you are missing the point. People are not mad about TH-snipe being removed. People are mad because the consequences of that removal were not addressed.

You call the game enjoyable and playable. Well, I guess you belong to the minority of players... Clan chat in hundreds of clans is dead (yes, there are exceptions). You understand if the number of players drop too much, the game isn't playable for anyone?
In my clan, no one quit at the moment. But clan chat is more or less dead. We had few hardcore players, rather casual players who also enjoyed chatting between some raids and snipes. Now, they empty collectors, do sometimes an attack (most don't because they don't like to shorten their shield as they work or go to school), request troops and log off. Before they broke their shield and took the risk of being raided heavily. For most progress has come to a stand-still and most are getting bored. But they still don't quit as they hope for a fix. And I think there are thousands of players like them. If the fix doesn't come quickly after the 1-gem boost is gone, I'm afraid people will start quitting in bigger numbers. I don't blame them, if you don't enjoy a game you should stop playing it. But you also need to see the effects of large numbers of players quitting on those who want to keep playing.

I'm also getting bored btw. I don't like the game as I liked it before. I don't think I will quit in the near future, but I also won't upgrade my th anymore. I'm an early th9 and will try to max that and then stick to war.

I'm not even sure it is entirely the update but also the overwhelming feeling of despair around the game and the total disconnect from SC. It has gone from a real, community feel to a divisive, negative world. Chuck in the foolish kids and name calling and overall a tough period that we are wading through.

Believe it or not, it might just turn out to be a one hit wonder. If it isn't, they wouldn't have created another game without fixing the current one first.

Clash royale? More like Practice runs for 8 year olds to be better adapted when they eventually play COC to avoid the next generations of whiners and complainers...

Yup. The community can forgive. Trust can be rebuilt. If it was beyond repair, no one would be here venting. I think SC has one shot at fixing this before it is severely broken.

Edited: nvm, I thought he was referencing SC and not youtubers. The YTbers clearly milked it knowingly for their own personal gains. They now feel remorse due to backlash. It would be great if they had the integrity and backbone NOT to go there in the first place, like DADDY.

The problem with the YTbers is they are NOT independent while they claim they are. That completely undermines their credibility.
They are of course in a very difficult situation as they choose to make videos for their living. Nothing wrong with that. But really, do they think anyone believes they play an important role at clashcon and they do it for free? I do believe they are not on the SC payroll, but I can't believe they have not some sort of freelance contract for doing this. And if they do it for free, they are doing bad business. Same thing for making sneak peeks. I can't believe they do it for free. And if they do, they are again doing bad business. They underestimate the value of advertisement in that case. Then they let SC abuse them for very cheap advertisement. In that case I think SC will also drop them when they think they don't need them anymore...

I personally also don't understand why people are watching their videos: you can't call them very helpful. The vids from OneHive contain lots more information. Galadon says he doesn't like Th sniping because no tactics required, but on his quest to 5000 he used no-brain mass dragon attacks. I don't see the difference. Anyway, I don't have a problem with Galadon. He is old enough to decide what he thinks is right to do. It's up to me to decide if I watch his video's (I don't except for sneak peeks and during this period I scroll through his list of videos and sometimes watch another one). For me, it's very weird that people expect help from them to fix the problem. They can voice problems, but why should they? SC is a company trying to make money. YTbers are also trying to make money. Both will do what they think will give them most money. They don't care about "our" opinions if they think their numbers prove our wrong. I do believe they reason short-termed, but who am I? Maybe SC decided they want to put more on Royale and much less on CoC? Maybe SC believes CoC is over its top?

Seeing forumers like daz stop playing really made me take that option into consideration but what is stopping me is my clan. I really love the clan more than the game. Should this be a sad or happy moment?

sad thing is, I spend less time talking with my clan as well. I've been playing a little over a year, but really started playing seriously maybe 10 months ago. since then I have been in the same clan and build a lot of good relationships. now that I have to wait an hour to farm I just train my army and go do something else (like post on forums or play another game). before I would boost barracks and raid constantly while chatting with clanmates. tis a sad day.

Felt the same last year when I maxed my TH9. (except the usual stuff). Played less and less. Just turned TH10 a month before the update thinking it would be a challenge and start attacking again as always. Never worked out.

Something else is missing in the game. Something needs to be added. They added wars, which was fine but it's always the same, train, attack, train, attack. Too repetitive. Quests? I don't know. Personally, I think that will get boring pretty quickly. How about perks for logging in everyday? 30 days login consecutively will award you gems? Resources? Free instant upgrade with or without loot? I don't know. Maybe I'm just dreaming.

Raid and upgrade will take it's toll eventually and leave players bored especially at TH9 and above.
