How were SC ever so successful with a PR system like this?!

It is literally beyond me. No word after the update. Literally nothing. No customer interaction, announcements, reassurances... In fact, not even an acknowledgement of what the community is feeling right now, and our frustrations (Mods don 't count).

It makes me wonder- I only started playing this game a year or so ago, and this has been the first big update in my time on clash that has been received very negatively by a LARGE part of the community. I have seen people who have been playing this game religiously for the last 3 years+ quit as a result. Was SC always so 'distant' after a big update dropped? I honestly can't remember because I've never had such a game changer drop in my time on clash. But it is hard to imagine that SC completely shake up a system that has been in effect after 3 years+ and decide to ignore the response from the community.

Also, doesn't SC realise that if they continue to bury their heads in the sand that word of mouth (the very factor that made it such a huge success) will eventually work against them? People like me who now will recommend friends and family to play other games instead. I'm not doing it out of spite- why would I? I'm just not going to recommend a game that I think people won't enjoy as much.

I've read on here that once upon a time hogs and heroes were nerfed and the community was not very happy about it (at least on the threads that I have seen). How did SC react to those concerns of the community... or did they react at all? And if they didn't, why are we so surprised this time round?

And before you say it (I reckon we should have an auto- disclaimer message option on the forums) this isn't a whining thread, and no I'm not going to leave my collectors unprotected on the way out. In fact, I'll double up the protection of my resources so you can adapt and play the game how it was supposed to be played- like a "real chief" .

Would definitely be nice to hear something. I wrote them an email a few weeks ago and they didn't bother to respond... though they surprisingly followed up with a cosutomer satisfaction survey.

They already knew a backlash like this was coming. Do you really think they didn't expect this.

Interaction can vary, usually it depends on how busy they are. Anoushka can't really respond with useful info as she needs to get that from the Dev team.

Until that happens I don't think that there is anything else that she can say that won't make things better. Could stop making them worse? Maybe. But the problem is she has already said that the devs are monitoring the situation.

Nowt more she can add at present probably.

But there lies the problem. This has reached a point beyond a response from the community manager. Someone from the dev team should have stepped up long ago and released a statement across all of the SC social platforms. I appreciate all the work done by the forum teams but they just don't have the job title or information needed to be put people's minds at rest that something is actually being worked on.

well... maybe they just don't have anything interesting to say? I mean do they really need to come out every day and say "we knew people would be ticked but we thought this move was best and we hear your feedback and are watching the data and are debating tweaks to the system as the data is analyzed"

actually yea I'd be stoked if they just posted that much... but I guess they think we should have assumed that's what they're doing... if it is what they are doing... after the new troop tidbit in the new game vids maybe they are just "focusing on some new content and letting the update play out to be re-evaluated later"... which WOULD be nice to know...

A fellow forum member posted this link http://www.p4rgaming.com/supercell-t...ofitable-ones/ and I quote “Some people think Clash of Clans is a good game,” said Paananen, “That’s nice of them to say, but that was not our goal. We never set out to try to make an innovative game. We just wanted to make a lot of money. The truth is, our approach has made us more popular, more successful and more influential. We have changed the industry and for the better.”

Simply put that statement to me sums up SC's philosophy- they are only driven by one thing only- superprofits. They don't care about their customers. They don't care about making the game experience better for us. Paananen goes further - "I’m just glad that all the people who wanted to make a good game have left our company. They would have destroyed us.” In other words, "make profitable games, not good ones".

That in a nutshell sums it up for me. If we think that SC are going to address the discontent and anger regarding the update to make clashers happy I'm afraid we are living in lala land. They are not going to roll back the changes, period. In fact as we speak they are probably analysing how we have adapted to keep farming and progress our bases and collecting data on it- namely the great trophy migration- and I will bet my bottom quid that the next update will be even more draconian so as to line their purses further.

There is a way of making money while keeping your customers happy hence I agree with the OP regarding this appalling PR by SC or rather lack of it.

    Your question is faulty

It should be How "are" they so successful not "were".

Regardless of the rumor almost 1 month after the so called game breaking update they still sit at the top of profit turning games on the play store and apple store.

Sorry the CoC Mayan Apocalypse prophecy failed.

Dude, that's a news parody site. I said so in the thread it was originally posted and I am saying it again. That whole article is made up for fun, stop quoting it.
    0 infernos = 2 infernos, therefore 0 = 2
    2 wardens = 5 wardens, therefore 2 = 5
    Conclusion: 0 = 5
