As Intended..SC keeps using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means

Yes I know, yes I have read, and I was outraged weeks before the update came out, but I gave it a chance. I wanted to see if it was really for the "better of the game". There are interviews with the SC CEO, moderator and staff quotes along with emails stating why the changes happened, what direction they want CoC to go etc. This big of a game change should have had a focus group. Instead we got a loaded diaper. Let's face it, 1/4 of CoC cares about cups, 1/4 solely loot and the other 1/2 are so casual they are never on for any length. The cup chasers make up 90% of SC revenue. They are changing the game to meet the needs of their paying customers...unfortunately, half of those paying customers are extremely disappointed. They mad money the first two weeks, that is quickly changing and SC development is on its heels. It will not be long before they have to give in and truly "fix" game play. I am not asking for sniping to come back or cheap shields. Actual game play to be fun is what we are asking, true balance, better matchmaking in war and multiplayer, balance to how you get a shield, GET RID OF BUNNIES (which have multiplied since update). This "fix" will have to come in order for CoC to survive, if they truly listen, the fixes are not far off from what they started. Then we can play the game "as intended".

Did you know that Play-Doh was originally invented as a wall paper cleaner? Kotex was a cotton cellulo material used to dress soldiers wounds. The secondary use of these products MADE THEM MONEY!! more than original INTENDED use of them...

That's exactly the reason Supercell took 3 years to "understand the complex uses of the shield system"



There are 3 reasons SC would change the core mechanics of the game:

a) players are leaving

b) income is decreasing

c) a and b


This excuse of playing how the game was intented is obviously ridiculous.

Unlike some naive participants of this forum might tell you, it's all about the money.

I'm inclined to believe you didn't read it. Because if you did you would realise that am argument along the lines of the OP and arguing about 'as intended' is completely invalid.

I completely agree with you. When I first saw those two words, I was confused. Can't we play the game how we intend to play it? Playing it how you intend it is NOT FUN. Still though....As intended..... It means we have the options to not play it as "intended"
Supercell could have locked the TH in the middle, removed trophy dropping, and made gold mines and elixir collectors collect their loot made automatically years ago. But they didn't do it. In coc we still have a choice. We have free will. Coc is STILL their most flexible game. In boom beach, you can't trophy drop. And when you destroy their HQ (townhall) = it's an automatic 3 star. All loot taken. So no farming, and your placed in a league your supposed to be in. Boom beach was really one sided which is why I quit it. But...SC could've done that to coc too. But they didn't. I don't know why. I have a feeling they still want the game to be flexible. It's why coc became super popular in the first place: it's flexibility. They removed some of it but it's still there. You can drop to silver and milk bases. I honestly thought they would remove trophy dropping in the update. It would do the final blow to kill farming. But for some reason they didn't.

Maybe this update was just a huge miscalculated mess by supercell. We are not playing the game as we intended. Opposite actually. Dropping and milking.

now you are not making any sense, I am the OP. SC wants us to play the game as they "intended", unfortunately, playing the game as they "intended" is not fun. The game mechanics changed, their cash cow is hurting, they are having a problem keeping customers. Here is another analogy.

In OCS, you are only allowed to use your spoon, the War Spoon. Not your knife and fork, all of your life, you are used to eating with knife, fork and spoon. Try cutting a steak with a spoon, doesn't work well, but you learn to do it. After OCS, do you really think I was going to keep cutting a steak with a spoon? No

SC has now restricted us to eating everything with a spoon, all meals, once they realize that "as intended" is not the best direction for the game to take and they just needed to make minor adjustments here and there, again along the lines of what the update had, then all will be fine. If SC keeps forcing this "as intended" ♥♥♥♥ down our throats, a revolt will soon happen, LET THEM EAT CAKE!! but only with a spoon.

OP means original post in this context. If you concede that the changes had reasons behind them then your 'as intended' argument becomes invalid. Regardless of whether or not you agree with those reasons and regardless of whether or not they were good for the game in the long run. In the end, if you concede that they had reasons for it, what you have a problem with isn't the 'as intended' argument but SC implementing their vision. Which is what all companies do all the time.

They had reasons for making TH11, they had reasons for new defenses/troops........

Wait, your sole, argument is if they had reasons behind it.....then the title fully fits you. Intent implies reason, if you are intent on doing something it is for a reason, unless you are one of those guys that just likes to watch the world burn.

They changed the game to force us to play as they intended. Could you imagine only drinking coca-cola because you had a head-ache? Yes their vision had reason and intent, it does not make it better game play or for the good of the game. Really? if they had a reason? Did they have intent? then they had reason, whether or not it was well thought out or not has already been seen. I am not fully shunning the update, but this play it as we intended ♥♥♥♥ has to go. Re-read what I said, some of it is good, just don't force the play as we intended it to be played. They had reason to change the game, their intent was to make it better, again, the road to hell is paved with good intentions regardless of the reason behind them.

Just because they may want you to play a certain way doesn't mean you have to. Anyone here who can't figure out how to make bank under the new update should uninstall as they don't deserve to play. It isn't even hard. Just different.
