It has come to my attention that certain people don't react well to neutral opinions that aren't sugarcoated, and as an effort to avoid wasting forum space to deal with these individuals, my posts may be more caring and understanding than my real thoughts.
It's not a dumb example at all. Supercell designed the game, they made it so that the TH gave a shield, and they made it so it takes loot to upgrade your base, and they made it so that a shield protects said loot. When my friend first was showing me the game and explaining how it worked, literally my first question was, wait so why do i want to protect my TH? It sounds like i want it taken. Never had seen a farming base or even played the game and that was my first question. No one could be so dumb as to design a game for months or years and not have this point come up.
So, just as the Iphone was designed to allow you to download apps, Apple coming out and saying, "wait! hold the phone!!!!! people are using apps on our phone? We intended them to only download them and not actually use them! Fix incoming asap no more downloading apps" that would be very much in line with what is happening.
If supercell didn't want us to put our hall out for a shield they should have designed the game differently. At the VERY least they should have fixed it within 1-2 months once it started happening(that's assuming they didn't foresee it which i refuse to believe, no one is that dense). What they did is wait 3 years, do multiple updates WITH this game mechanic and pretty much allowed the entire culture, economy, community, trophy system to revolve around, depend, and function based on the system they originally created.
This far along the proccess, as the #1 grossing app, changing gameplay on such a fundamental level is almost guranteed to wreck your game into peices. What comes out on the other side may be a game that exists, but only as a former shadow of itself.
Just as if apple completely changed their smartphones not to use the internet. People would rage, stop using them, and switch to their competitors.
Then of course, there would be some people who say, "what? i only ever used my phone for calls stop complaining. adapt!! No one cares that you were using the intronet you fangled kids get off my lawn. I like phones this way"
Take a guess at which people on the forum is that last one.
Fix the economy man. I can work around everything else but cost. Currently it is just to expensive to go full war attack on a base and make any sort of rss. Gold is easy to get as it always was. Since the update its elixer that is hard to find. You need it for spells and troop cooks. Just do something positive before the whole damn game leaves. I heard something about a new troop, you know what we need. The godamn economy fixed..
Firstly its dumb because its not based on reality
Secondly its dumb because Apple implement their own vision in their products
Thirdly its dumb because SC didn't make the changes for the sake of it and this whole 'as intended' is complete nonsense and its a fools argument. They gave clear reasons for the change.
They did give reasons for the change. They mostly revolved around, "this wasn't how we intended the game to be played". Go back and read them again if you don't remember.
Or are you referring to how they said loot would be better? And everyone with a brain cell knew that it would not be. And it hasn't been. Who would have thought?
Also just wait till the gem boost ends. Too lazy to find/post that song about a ghostown but you get the idea.
It is an analogy, need not be on reality.
And SC doesn't?
Yes, to play the game "AS THEY INTENDED"...btw...still looking for the "As SC intended CoC to be played" book.
Did you know that Play-Doh was originally invented as a wall paper cleaner? Kotex was a cotton cellulo material used to dress soldiers wounds. The secondary use of these products MADE THEM MONEY!! more than original INTENDED use of them...and they are still around, because they catered to the customer's use of their product. His cell phone "xPhone" was a great one. What would you do if the xPhone manufacturer suddenly said, "we are changing our phone programming because it is not being used as WE intended"?.. You would buy a different phone.
Biting the hand that feeds, keeeling the golden goose, chopping your nose off...pick one.
Good debate tho
