I just saw the commercial and I was bored out of my mind watching it. Why would you guys worry about this replacing clash. IMO, this new game looks horrible and uninteresting. I can't see this being a hit, but who knows with all the fanboys I guess.

the new game has a different dev team working on it and the new game is a mini game set in the clash universe. it projects how your troops got their humble beginnings including hair styles

Each game has their own development team. It has always been like this, whether it's Clash of Clans, Boom Beach, Hay Day, Clash Royale....
It is by no means replacing Clash of Clans nor halting any development for Clash of Clans.
What Supercell says, is not necessary the truth. This comment comes from Jonas chatting with Chief Pat, right?
Supercell also said there was a "significant" increase in league boni, but there wasn't.
Supercell also said that in some leagues 80% of attacks were snipes, without any data/evidence to back it up.
My point is when SC says something take it with a grain of salt.
I do believe that they have a separate team working on the game, but SC did lose it's credibility. (In my opinion)
I don't think the game will go far either. Anyone know how well the Blizzard spinoff card game did? I played their mmorpg, but never really tried the card game. I just have zero interest in those. They are all the same.
I suspect there will be a minority of clash players that cross over and stay.
However, it is on the Clash Royale website, in the FAQ:

I'm willing to believe it.
However, if they don't seem to do anything to fix these Clash of Clans issues, then I'd be more inclined to believe that they are not going to do much more with it, and decide that I too, will not.
Looks like they are trying to extend into that card genre of games.
However, as far as I'm concerned, those game just are not as fun.
