Too bad they just didn't say the NEWS!! wasn't related to Clash. But funny timing for a new product launch: 1) Make a lot of people angry; 2) Generate hype that leads these people to think something is going to be fixed; 3) Announce an entirely new game. Be interesting to see how the new game does.

It's either more ignorance from SC or arrogance. Tick everyone off then say "hey buy our new game." Nice business model. So obviously the guys that visited SC had NOTHING to do with discussing complaints about the update; I hope people get that. It was about having them push this new game with promise of money or free updates for beta testing something.

Lol, no surprise they got closed. However, the last post really hit a nerve.

@ Lach telling people to lower their expectations is laughable. SC and these youtubers are tossing little snowballs down the mountain and are upset when they become massive iceballs of destruction. Instead of letting the hype avalanche happen, why don't they stop it? Same could be said about Clashcon. Everyone screaming game changer and SC rolls with it. Clashcon comes, no game changer, we do the word dance. Same thing here. Why would you set yourself for something like that? It never ends well.

I think we need to be more open minded. Next Christmas Eve I am going to tell the kids that I am going to try an exciting new experiment on Christmas Day. The following day instead of presents we will have pancakes. Could work?

Plus, announcing a new game while they are in the middle of a PR fiasco with the current update was not a well-thought out move by SC imo.

Also, hinting at something new, implying a TH 12 during said PR fiasco was also not a good move by the youtubbers. People thought they were going to hear about a fix to the current update, instead they got a new game announcement with a hint of a crossover character to CoC from CR.

Both moves were sure to inflame to forums even more.

Basically, your marketing mix was okay except for the promotion (publicity and customer service parts) portion.
