Before, mobile or at least smartphones games are all considered casual games. Im confidently sure most of us decided to start playing this game as a past time, but we all aim to be good at this at some point. And then it convinced us that it is all possible because even if you are playing casually, you can be a badass strategist chief. And then this update was released, it became a survival of the fittest. The casual player i knew are all quitting because they lost more than they gain. We knew the formula to survive but they think it is too troublesome because they can only play casually. Even if coc gained millions of players, it is just a casual game. That is how it gained its popularity. If we were planning to be a hardcore gamer, we'll spend most of our time on our ps4's or pc's, not in front of our mobile phones or ipads. Personally im not against the update because i can "adapt", but please supercell, put some consideration on your casual players... one thing that gave this game some appeal is because its population of gamers. And if that population become gradually lesser and having little value and importance, even your loyal fans will lose interest in your game.
TH11, Level 158. 45/45/20 heroes. Village idled due to lack of new content.
Royale Level 12, around 4900 cups.
Royale F2P Level 11, around 4400 cups.
I get pillaged for maximum losses by heavy war armies once or twice a day. It's impossible to hang on to any significant amount of a resource, especially dark elixir, therefore impossible to save up over several nights of play. I'm using tricks to keep going (except for dark upgrades which are flatly impossible) but I'll be hitting the wall soon as a TH8, unable to pay for the last bump on expensive defenses, and hard pressed to pay for some of the more costly lab work. At that point I'll be left with just walls and 4 snoozing builders, and a lab full of scientists wondering why there's no dark elixir to fund their remaining projects. A one-week shield is the last card I have left to play.
Playability is seriously broken since the update. Shield periods are far to short to recover from. And player behavior seems to have permanently changed - I'm raided (at a net loss to the attacker!) by all-dragon or pekka/golem/wizard/witch armies on a daily basis, even with very modest resources. It's a cesspool of misbehavior now.
If you quit can I have your base![]()
