Thread: Is it possible for this game to survive after this?

    Ofc. They already have a huge fan base. All it takes is for them to right the ship and focus on game quality rather than $$$. Whether that will happen who knows. They've made a ton of messups during the years but they do listen to the community and make fixes. Even if it takes months. The problem is it seems they are too uncaring about risk and their timing/PR is absolute garbage. Each year, the big problem update gets worse and worse and the scale of outrage grows in parallel. Many people have been alienated and stopped playing. All they have to do is make the game fun and more rewarding for all types of players.

    We can't even say that this update did not intend to make the game more fun. The intention could have been good except they could also just be totally out of touch with the playerbase and their needs and wants. It could simply be a matter of not understanding the game, player behavior, incentives, and consequences of making certain gameplay changes. That is why the players are able to predict how certain changes will affect player behavior (resource/shield/league management) at first sight and are also able to create the best solutions for the game quality as well.

    There is a tug of war between game quality and $$$. When you overreach and the $$$ starts becoming more important than game quality and features, you get huge backlash. Casual players are also a product that need to be catered to for whales to have status and significance in this game. Even the whale trophy pushers are not happy with this update, one that was primarily designed to make their quality of life and gameplay better.

    Yes the patch is a huge change, yes there is negative effects to that change yes SC has some tweaks to do to repair the negativity. They have stated they are observation and open to making changes. People just need to show some patience.

    Show patience? It's been 3 weeks. If they're on vacation I'm moving to freaking Finland, where apparently they get a month vacation off from work.

    And what company, valued in the billions, releases this update knowing their staff will be on vacation for a month? It's the most idiotic theory I've read on the forums.

    They released 2 patches since the update to address issues so no they did not put it out there and run off.

    The other issues require observation and time. See the effect on the economy etc.

    I saw a poll on another independent website that had 89% disapproval of the update and only 6% approval. The main issues seem to be with removing snipes and dead bases. SC may add back some dead bases, and that would help greatly imo

    I still enjoy the game! People want a easy game to play...I like a challenge progression should be somewhat difficult....if you can't handle the heat don't stand next to the fire as they say....if your not happy with the game or having fun then quit...hope you find that EASY game you want to play!

    The simple fact is this: It takes too long to progress now and a lot of the game's "fun factor" has been removed.

    This game was already a grind, albeit a fun one. Now they've taken out the fun, by losing TH snipes and dead bases (which I considered bonuses, not the only thing I focused on), I personally did full attacks with Golems every attack, but I enjoyed when I got to do a couple TH snipes while I was looking for a nice storage raid.

    It was also nice to land an easy collector raid from a dead base, it gave you a break from the constant searching. I think that's the main mechanic here that's caused most people to feel like the game has lost the fun factor.

    When you're having to build 90 minute armies and you don't get any of those other perks, and we don't even get 100% of the loot bonus for winning most of the time, then it feels like SC is just squeezing our wallets so we can keep upgrading at a pace that we've become accustomed to over years of play.

    If they won't put TH snipes/dead bases back (which I doubt they will), they have to find a way to give us bonuses. Loot bonuses for wins are laughable, any normal player rarely gets 100% of the loot bonus, which just pisses you off because that's just another thing we've been getting for the last 2+ years that has been taken away.

    When you look at what was taken away (I'm a near max TH10 so I'm not going to TH11 yet I didn't gain anything in this update), this update has only taken away from the majority of players, very few are TH11 and getting the new hero and defenses.

    Hopefully SC finds a way to add some fun/random bonuses to give to us while we're searching and building 90 min armies, because right now it's just not fun.

    Not a single person here can tell me it wasn't fun to grab a quick TH snipe for a nice win bonus, or hitting a dead base for 400k/400k. It was those things that made the constant searching for full storage raids bearable.

    Not to mention it helped keep the economy afloat.

    Yea man. This game changing update was more about taking away from the majority of players.. Woopty doo we get a dark spell (also takes away from many war players) and a more convenient boosting denomination. While we get screwed in every other way.

    I started playing another similar game casually b/c of the update and the features in there are so amazing.. If only clash was focused on adding awesome features and making the game better instead of totally rehauling it..

    (features include:
    -surviving troops re-used
    -bonus gold generation for buildings connected to TH
    -incentivizing all kinds of different playstyles including turtling by choosing from 7-10ish base characteristics. for example, a certain base type can give you longer shields or you can make upgrading cheaper or make defense stronger or make attacks stronger, etc
    -a button that lets you retrain the previous attack's troops
    -little things to do in your base while you are waiting in downtime such as a multiple variety of obstacles/loot generators
    -highlighting over builder icon shows a list of upgrades and time to finish, etc etc etc

    and I only just started the game a few days ago -.-)

    I like the art/smoothness of clash better but jeez.. Instead of improving the game and adding incentives to how they want us to play the game, they punish us into dull and homogenous playstyles..
