    Becuase the appropriate bases to milk have about 50k+ loot, attacking them with Gobs is more profitable since they are cheaper and you are using less thanks to their x2 DMG abilities.

    You're not answering the question. Pre-update people were raiding collectors too. Why would troops composition change? You're acting like gobs received a buff or something.

    It never changed then. Gobs have always been like that, and are pretty strong troops vs resources. In a post-update world when bringing Barch to attack those new "milkable" bases is no longer very successful, Gobs have taken the roll.

    Gobs didn't get a buff post-update, it's collector sniping that got a buff post-update. With that I mean that post update more collectors are continuously available due to less shields being 'earned' by all players. Because of that collector raiding now seems more efficient than ever (at least when compared to the other remaining farming tactics post update).

    Because the update drastically changed the dynamic of collector raiding (an increase in effectiveness and thereby an increase in appeal), overnight it became essentially a new tactic.

    So why were people using barch if it's so inefficient then?

    Because pre-update Barch was viable, as Rich dead bases were more common. Now the "poor" dead bases are more common, and Gobs give you a better ROI vs Barch post-update. Also, Mass gobs wasn't widespread because there were more Rich dead bases, and to add to the fact that trophies were more important than today.

    Yes but you're still not answering the question. Either way, collectors are the same, the troops are the same. Why is it that to do the exact same thing a different composition suddenly became more efficient?

    And trophies became less important when they changed matchmaking a couple updates ago, this update hasn't done anything significant to change their worth. Last I checked in 1 hour you barely dropped trophies at all anyway.
