Have you been trying to get the war hero achievement and not being able to do so? Because no matter how hard you try the 1000 stars are always a bit further away? Perhaps a bit TOO far away? Well, worry not, there is an explanation: not all stars you win in wars are counted, apparently, as I only recently discovered.
Yes, you heard me correctly. For a long time now I could not understand why I appeared to make slower progress in war stars than I expected. So, I decided to start noting the number of stars in my achievement before each war attack. Here is what I noted:
a) If I go to a clean base and I win some stars, stars get counted appropriately.
b) If I go to a base with some stars and I get more stars, then ALL of my stars are counted... so the achievement is not counting new stars.
c) If I go to a base with some stars and fail to get more stars (so, say, the base has been 2 starred before and I also get 2 stars), then NO STARS ARE COUNTED!!! Yes, you heard me correctly.
So, to all of you out there who have patiently been waiting to attack late and cleanup after you team mates... stop doing this! Attack early and hit two clean bases, so that your stars get counted for sure. Let your team mates be the suckers who attack for nothing.
Was this always like that, dear SC? Or is this yet another "brilliant" idea of yours silently introduced in the new update? Just for the record, this policy is TOTALLY UNFAIR AND IT SUCKS BIG TIME.
