there is a general malaise in the clash world. it's not just the squeaky wheels here on the forums, I am seeing it in my clan and in old clans I have gone back to visit. it's not that people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at supercell per se, they are just kind of down based on getting wrecked 2-3 times per day and having to really slog to make it up. the fun quotient is just way down for most players.

pair that with the fact that this game really is a timesucking addiction for many, the kind of thing many people examine in their lives around the new year.

of course, we have all seen the many attention hounds rage-posting their "I quit" letters to supercell in the forum. those are a blip in the radar, most of them probably don't even quit. the quitters that ought to really worry supercell are the ones who just kind of quietly realize that they have better things to do with their time and put the game down out of boredom. I am wavering on that myself. clan wars with a bunch of guys who have known each other 10+ years is still a lot of fun for me, will probably keep me around a bit longer. the idea of turning the page on this game is attractive in many ways. we will see.

but for the sake of the game, I hope supercell can see, understand, and address the real magnitude of the problem they have on their hands. I am sure they sold a ton of gems in december. if that's all they are looking at, they will miss the fact that this is the beginning of the end for their game. the addiction aspect and the bonds between clanmates will keep things afloat for a while. but if the thrill is gone, the game won't last.
