If the TH is a storage why do spells work on it?

TH holds a portion of your loot, it is not a storage. It has a storage capacity, this has never changed, the amount was just increased. Just like the clan castle holds war loot.

they should've just made de storages immune, and made up some background stories like how de storages are so powerful and that's why zaps dont work on them.

TH & CC hold storage which you can gain only if you destroy the building fully. So even if spells weaken them, you get zero if you don't destroy completely, where as the storages, you acquire as you hit on it.
