I am a pretty much maxed out town hall nine working on a ten. The first thing I learned that no matter how well my base is designed, once I got around 40K DE. the megalodons come and you will lose far more than you can boost or steal. So, I gave up on upgrading my BK or AQ until I get my town hall ten upgrades done. So, I tried to stay in gold one but the trophy dropping pushed me into masters 2 and for a while it was a happy home. I usually get the required 70% damage so I get the full league bonus making it worth attacking these broke bases. Even better, at first I found quite a few 300K gold and elixer bases and had quite a blast. Unfortunately now I find that I rarely find anything raid-able worth raiding. Once I get around 3 mil in gold, I get slammed losing 350K nearly every attack. I can earn most of that back with a shield, boost, and an attack myself right before the shield drops, but I'm barely able to build up savings or move forward.
What's worse is the revenge function is absolutely worthless, even more so than before. This idea that they got rid of shields so there is more attacking is total bull. Those having anything worth raiding are instantly attacked leaving the base shielded, and nothing but broke bases for us to next through. You have to luck upon a base that somebody else hasn't been shown yet to get anything. They say they got rid of the town hall snipe to expose more bases but to me it's far far worse. People can attack from shield without you having the ability to attack back. You have to keep checking over and over and over and they are always always shielded.
I don't mind somebody being able to raid me, that's the fun of the game. But, if it's impossible for me to save enough to upgrade my base, what's the point? You have to balance the game so we can have some chance at moving forward.
My clan lost several regular members who quit, our clan chat is dead, plans for wars are cancelled, etc etc.
I have really enjoyed this game but with the trophy dipping, inability to save/ build resources, and no way to move forward, this game is getting old. Something needs to be done to help us folks grow.
