Last Years One Gem Barrack Boost vs This Year

I logged in and saw the new ad and visited the forums and found out about the one gem barrack and spell factory boost and my mind went back to last year when v had the same event...

I remember fondly how I completed my legos and got almost 1/4 lavas done last year with 3 two hr boost sessions for a week... While this year I have not raided for the last few days and dont feel like doing a boosted raid for even an hr... I just login collect from the collectors watch some replays of random dudes going after my DE Drills on my Main TH10 account with Max Defenses and watch some Real Chiefs attack with GoWipe on my Mid lvl TH9 account...

I keep checking the forums in hope of some news about a fix but I only find disappointment every time...

I wonder how long v will have to wait...

before the update a barracks boost would allow about 10 attacks per hour and I'd gain about 1-1.5m

Post update I get three attacks as it essential to use both heroes and spells, perhaps 500k gold and negligible elixir, and much less fun. Whilst the one hour boost is a good idea (rather than 2 hr) there is little point in using it.
