Short-term payroll that will actually lead to their ultimate demise in the end if no changes are made to the current issues(non-th sniping) is better than billions of $$ long-term payroll that will be a continuation of their success?

The exploit came when players realized that they could climb up in trophy count by searching for Townhalls that were outside, thus some in the playing community decided to trap their townhalls, thus impeding the snipers progress.

I personally never wanted to give someone free cups, so I always kept my TH in my core, and if someone wanted to get my loot, or the league bonus, they would have to fight my base for it. However, by increasing the league bonus, AND rewarding gems for achievements from making it into some of the higher leagues, Supercell basically forced this behavior.

The only needed change was to make the town hall a resource building. This would give players pause to put their town hall outside their base because they would know that by doing so, they would now lose more loot AND drop in trophies.

Granted, many people would not care and still leave their TH out IF the loot gained from sniping their town hall was not substantial(like right now).

Why didn't supercell just make the townhall a resource building that awarded a substantial percentage of your loot? Like maybe 5% for example. So if you had 5M Gold, 5M Elixir, and 100K Dark, you would lose 5% of each if they took your TH.

That is 250KGold, 250K Elixir, and 5K dark. I mean that is a pretty substantial loss, and I am guessing many players would simply move their TH inside. Some may think that is an acceptable loss and leave it out knowing they just paid for a shield.

That change alone would have solved the issue. Players would have to make a choice, using the game mechanics to their advantage or not.

As far as comparing the bunnies to TH snipers, that is crazy talk...this behavior was created by Supercell as soon as they started awarding both Gems and loot bonuses for higher leagues.
Because then the loss will also be dealt to people who protect their th and it gets taken.

oh and 1 more thing that many of you folks do not seem to grasp.

There are a few reasons that farming has become substantially harder now and the biggest one IMO is not what yall think. The update itself has caused a ton of great bases to drop in trophies. Many folks are still dropping because of this. Please allow me to explain.

Pre-update, you were in a high league(i.e CHamps)..where btw, sniping was rare but that is a different story.

Players in those high leagues had to spend some resources to upgrade/build their shiny new toys, so they drop cups to farm off rushed/noob/lower bases.

This left many players in the higher leagues that had difficult bases to farm from, so folks that remained in those leagues were not finding any easy bases to hit...so what do they do? Thats right, they drop in cups until they find said bases....

    Now...

You have many folks in the lower leagues all look and searching for hours for these easy bases, but with so many people searching, they are much harder to find...

Add in to that equation that supercell appears to have hidden those dead bases, so now these same players taht WERE just looking for dead bases are stumbling into YOUR base...Thats right..YOU, you sexy little TH9 with level 6 wizard towers are no match for my TH11 army(or a TH10 with decent troops) and now whats even better, is I don't care if I only pick up a star or 2 instead of 3, heck, I don't even care if I lose cups...I just want your loot. ALL OF IT.

so now, I am building cheap farm armies, and searching for any weak bases just like before, only now I am not being as selective as any TH9 that isn't maxed will do, any rushed TH10 will do.

I don't want to wait 2-3 hours for my army/spells/heroes, just to attack some great base and net me a profit of 50k elixir total. I don't care about your crappy league bonus that was SUBSTANTIALLY DECREASED as in order to get it all, I would need to 70% a good base, and to do that, I need a great army.

No supercell, I, and MANY players like me, are going to take the MUCH easier route, and that is by picking on much lower bases that have any decent loot, and to find those bases, I needed to drop some trophies - so that is what I did...and clearly many others did the same.

You created this behavior, now either make some changes or live with it.

    Ask yourself:
    1) Why should the least important building (judging by where all the farmers put it) grant a shield?
    2) Why should it be possible to trade trophies for loot?
    3) What value does a perverse incentive that encouraged people to deliberately lose battles add to SuperCell as a business?

I think SuperCell asked themselves these questions and the update was their answer.
    Ask yourself:
    1) Why SC rejected the idea to remove the alleged "exploit" from the game 2ish years ago?
    2) Why they decided to remove it 2ish weeks ago?
    3) What value does the gross abuse of the casual players' loyalty add to SC as a business?

Well that pretty much falls inline with supercells own statement about wanting players to protect their bases more doesn't it? I mean, a player would have to earn that TH by doing a full war attack, with full war troops and spells.

I agree as well but however I do not agree with the fact that no balance was brought in when they removed it. They took an year to test the update, it doesn't leave me with much confidence when they brought no balance. Add something back when you take something out. That is what balance is. What we have currently is just take out and just keep taking it out but what do we get in return as a coincidence? Boosting.

Not to mention the lack of communication which in part is understandable but still doesn't fill me with much confidence. With a large-scale protest against the barrage of changes, they should be on top with their communication NOW rather than after all the drinking and feasting and having the time of their life. That doesn't bode well for a $3 billion+ company.

Clash rating on Google play is still 4.6; you guys aren't moving the needle. It's supercell's product, either consume it or don't. Either way, quit making endless threads with the same whining grievances.

Like I said in another thread:

It seems the majority of people complaining about no loot, are the higher leagues.
And why? Well, for one, look at the shield/guard bonuses for the higher leagues.
Yes, I can somewhat understand SC's idea behind that, as a perk.
However, they failed to realize, making it hard to have the higher leagues get attacked, means it's hard for those leagues TO attack.

Hence, the droppers. Yes, there were droppers galore pre-update, but even I admit, they more likely raised in numbers, and the above is the main reason why, I think.

So, what's the fix? Well, as much as I hate to say it, the droppers may have the right idea. If the higher leagues all of a sudden thinned out considerably, then maybe SC will look into the why, and tweak things, so the highers can attack and get loot.

Google play rating is cumulative rather than per update as the app store CoC rating is.
