Xbows if for no other reason than to dump your gold. But as an added note, I'm a recent th9 myself, and I just watched a level 28 queen get melted by my level 2 xbows. The second I saw a full on gibarch, backed with that level of queen plus spells miss my 2500 available de and give me a shield, I knew the .5 wouldn't have been worth it. Best of luck to you whatever you decide.

Also like others said don't rush them to level 3. I did the following plan on my main...

    heroes 10/10 build xbows
    15/15 upgrade to level 2
    20/20 upgrade to level 3

It's not that hard to do this since you can dump gold/elix into walls. Once all your walls are lego saving up gets tougher because you're often showing quite a bit of all resources.
I appreciate the feedback, as I said above, I already started on my Xbows, they will be done on Jan 6th, but based on the feedback I have received, I won't be upgrading them to lvl 2. Heros are at 10/4 anyway, so it shouldn't be too long before 10/10, on that note, do you have any tips on de farming? Anything would help!

    Thanks for your help,

If you can set a side a few hrs to milk you can get 6-8 mil in gold and elixir easily.

i'm sure supercell will kill off 'milking' in an update or two so don't wait too long.
This is an interesting idea, will it work for de too? Right now I am holding steady with gold and elixir and farming as much de as I can! I will definately try this tonight or tomorrow though to see how well it works and report back on my results.

    Thanks for the help,

If you ever have surplus of gold, please dump it into walls. As a th9, it's best to do heroes and walls since day one so you won't have a ton of them to do at the end.

    1/3 Update

    Hey all,

Forgot to do this one yesterday as well. Got all 25 new walls up to lvl 6, and got my AQ back this morning (lvl 3), just added up the cost of my previous de farming army, and needless to say, I realized why I wasn't making any elixir gains :P For elixir farming I switched to barch, and for de I use a more powerful GiWi type attack. Until I get AQ up to at least lvl 10 I don't think I'll be hitting alot of th 9, surviving off th 8 with 1200+ de per attack. Seems to be working well, but I may try superqueen if I can't get the de for lvl 4 AQ tonight, 15k to go!

    Thanks all,

This is amazing advice! Thank you! Yes actually what I am doing right now is holding gold and elixir steady around 750k-1m each, this makes me less of a target for farmers, and if I go over that I just dump the surplus into walls at the end of my session Do you have any tips on de farming? My army is a little expensive so I tried SQ for the first time today, will let you all know how it went in tonight's update

    Thanks!
