Me and My TH9

My 2 accts were maxed th8 and I went th9 with full storages prior to the update, decided to go th8.5 and I upgraded my cc spell fact lab and camps but with this update I kept getting hit, luckily the gem boost came along and I bought 1 week shield and with war loot winnings I managed to get my Xbows started, I wouldn't wait you'll have a hard time holding gold

Personally I would build xbows after both heroes are level 10. That way you're not a detriment to your war clan as your offense is on par with your defense. I would upgrade the clan castle win the gold.

what is your league buddy?
after dec. update most of rushed base (.5 bases) struggled from defense from players attack due to PBT effect. specially if you on high league, having good defensive is a must to protect your loot.
but, you know the risk of having xbow on your base, it will heavily effect on the war matchmaking.
so decide yourself, whether you're an active war player, or active raider.

for me, i personally build xbow because i need them to stronger my base. in war i don't think too much of matchmaking because we can still adjust the overall strategy to achieve victory.

and, rush your heroes to at least lv10, they have huge impact on the battle.

League: Gold 3-2 depends on where the TH8 take me (And before anyone tells me I'm in the wrong league, at this point I'm a max TH 8 with a lvl 2 AQ)

I completely agree about rushing the heroes to 10, doing all that I can but I keep getting raided (Imagine that: max loot available=getting raided)

I decided to build both xbows for de protection in order to get my AQ up faster. Thanks for all the help everyone!

I'm an 8.5, I've been th 9 for a month a a half with aq lvl 12 and bk lvl 12 in 2 days. Ive been doing just fine sitting in gold 3-1 (currently pushing up). I lose about 200k gold almost every defense and about 150 elixir. I'm sitting on about 4mill good and 7.2mill elixir. My clan strongly forbids any xbows being built on new th 9s until all other buildings are done with. I'm doing just fine without them.

Hey all,

Today got my cc up to 30 spaces! Lavas here I come! Took a war defense with the xbows, pretty unimpressive against dragons (one star though xD) up to 4m elix and 2m gold (yesterday I spent all the gold I had) so my next question is what to upgrade next? lol Tonight I'm aiming for the last 6k de for AQ 3, and working on getting my elix up to 6m for giants lvl6... But where to dump the gold? Leaning towards Teslas atm, haven't had to defend against SQ yet but it's only a matter of time... Most of my defenses are pretty well necessary for loot protection atm, that's another reason I wanted the xbows, something to use to switch out upgrading defenses. I guess the most non-essential buildings for loot protection atm are my cannons.

Hey all,

Decided to start on my first Tesla lvl 7 with all my extra gold, and I fell asleep farming for AQ 3, lol (Also got witches finally ). I think I'll keep this thread as a daily update/continuous question thread to document my progression through TH9. Can't wait to get that 5th builder.! Also if anyone has any tips for me about what to upgrade next or a good elixir farming army, please reply to my post, I need all the help I can get

Hey all, sorry it has been so long, been busy writing papers and such :P

Started on AQ lvl 3 this morning, and after another jump spell fail due to duration not being long enough at lvl 1, I end my quest for lvl 6 giants by upgrading my jump spell, going to have to find another strategy that works :P Also got all 25 of my new walls to lvl 5, to dump gold again. Going to get my xbows soon, (6th of January, can't wait!)

My mini is an 8.5 and i don't have much of a problem saving up. My progress is slow but i rarely raid on that account. Xbows aren't a magic bullet. My main account has level 3's and I still get rolled. Personally I'd recommend getting the other new defenses up to TH8 level and your queen to 10 and then build the xbows. Also like others said don't rush them to level 3. I did the following plan on my main...

heroes 10/10 build xbows
15/15 upgrade to level 2
20/20 upgrade to level 3

It's not that hard to do this since you can dump gold/elix into walls. Once all your walls are lego saving up gets tougher because you're often showing quite a bit of all resources.

when your lab is almost done with jump spell, head down to silver and spend 2-3 hours milking it for elixir/gold. use just goblins, hit towns that have 40-80k loot in collectors, use only 4-5 goblins per collectors, you'll end up spending 3-4k elxir while gaining 40-80k in loot, and you get to raid every 2-3 minutes.

If you can set a side a few hrs to milk you can get 6-8 mil in gold and elixir easily.

i'm sure supercell will kill off 'milking' in an update or two so don't wait too long.
