    Matchmaking System

    Hi all,
I am almost maxed TH9, in Champ2, with around 3500 trophies at the moment.

I think I have read that Supercell has balanced matchmaking in this new update. I have contacted them regarding to the issue I got - I get matched against THs that are in Master1-3 too often.
As a response I got: the matchmaking is based on a wide trophy range so we get more bases to pick from.

    The problem is:

In 99% of the times I do not get good "bang for a buck" bases. Meaning as a TH9 I usually get matched vs TH10s.
Rarely I get matched against TH9 bases, and I get offered almost as much TH9 bases that I do TH11s.
When I get matched vs TH9 its usually Master3, offering me +5/-30 or such.

My trophy offers are +12/-24, +10/-28, +6/-30...the pattern is obvious.

If the system is such that we are put against bases with WIDE range of trophies - how come I get matched vs Champ1 once in a blue moon, and never ever vs Titan.
On the other hand, I often get matched vs Master3 which can be as low as 2600..that is a 900 trophies difference!

Keep in mind that I am matchmaking a lot; I have 280 attacks won for this season, so this all comes from a large sample.

This gets really annoying, especially when once in a while u mess up your attack, your queen is upgrading, or such.

The bases I get are in a ballpark of +50/-600 trophies on average compared to my 3500 troph.
    The TH's around 80%TH10, 12%TH9, 8%TH11

What balance are we talking about here...am I expected to crush th10s as a th9?With 600M gold, 600M elixir,2M DE farmed, I am not casual player...but this just goes beyond putting an effort.
Seems you are expected to be rice farmer/pusher or to pay for gems.

I am in exactly the same position, max TH9 in 3500 trophy range and barely holding. This matchmaking mismatch has been going on pre-update. It is apparently due to a TH preference meaning there are fewer TH9s above you and more below you so the majority of your "wide range" matches will be to the lower range to match you with other TH9s. I'm experiencing the same thing and nexting more now than pre-update to find a village I can profit from confidently. Most of my profitable matches are with max or strong TH10s and it gets frustrating. Adding to the problem is the mass dump of players to the lower leagues leaving less diversity at the top. Perhaps this is what SC "intended".

It's quite simple to explain. It's just numbers, the amount of players in titans is small, and most will be riding shields or online. Then as you go down the leagues there are more and more players available so chances of getting lower league attacks are higher.

What makes the situation worse is that following the train wreck of an update a huge proportion of players either dropped from the higher leagues down to bronze/silver or just quit (thus after 5 inactive days their base can no longer be found). So the amount of players I'm the higher leagues is significantly (that's English significantly not Supercell significantly) reduced.

I recently dropped to silver from champs as I found when nexting I started to see the same bases 2 and sometimes 3 times in the same nexting session.

I hear you John, but there is one thing I find confusing.
If you lay in low leagues, league bonus is not a factor. Meaning people have no incentive to destroy high % of your base, and they don't care for trophies either = they just go for the loot, and you often don't even get a shield.
This results in people taking your loot over and over. I like to believe this is common sense, so NOW (after the update) there SHOULD be more ppl in higher leagues, because the system is such.
Another thing to factor is TH11 that allowed people to go higher in trophies.
Many people I know that were at 4100 as TH10, went to 5000 as TH11.

    You are right.
But strangely, when I was in champ guess what? Most attackers (about 75%) had lower trophies than me... So they gained much more trophies even with one star, than I could win by doing three stars on others.
Once (just once) I got lucky and found a th8 in titan for 30 trophies gain (he mades me go on titan). But I do apologize to him, though.

    agreed.
the number of titan/champI players is small compare to in master league. i found a lot of masterI players during my nexting since 4 hours ago, but it's different when 15 hours ago, there are a lot of juicy TH9 bases. Try to nexting on different time.
