Wow cool experiment, but risky no? ...legend points at peril

People, its a test, an experiment to get us to try this in our respective leagues with our level heroes ...its to show us ' if it can be done in legends' it sure as hell can be done elsewhere. Sheesh, ppl find something to moan about on everything!

I salute you for doing this lach!

If you act the opposite as the guys in this thread, they may contact you, or you can apply if and when they're actively recruiting.

Seems some people never be happy!

Even champion league has plenty of bases available that aren't all too strong and possible to hit with non hero armies...but I guarantee that when you go there and show your logs, there will be loads of 'but this' & 'but that'

    nice work up there anyway

Clouds make this slightly troublesome though, but I guess they're not as bad as they used to be up there. I'm just farming collectors and storages in champ2 now, with giants, hogs and archers. Might just go to titans and do gihogarch there.

Also, wouldn't it be cheaper and quicker if you added a golem each raid? Would work well in front of your queen. You don't need de anyway

I haven't read through the entire thread yet, but hopefully Polaris makes a cameo.

He's been barching in Crystal range with both his TH10's since the update and has some nice attack logs to show for it. The notion that barching is dead is kinda funny...

Edited to add: People are harping on the max heroes, and they obviously help, but they're not as relevant as many are making them out to be imo. If you're trying to barch as a TH11 in Legends, you BETTER have high level heroes to compliment them. Hell, if you're barching as a TH9 in a higher league, you BETTER have high level heroes to compliment your army.

Throwing a barch army against the brick wall that is a TH11 base without using heroes would do nothing but prove that TH11 bases are strong and infernos melt barch. OF COURSE the heroes help, that's what they're there for and why people should really take the time/effort to upgrade them as often as possible.

Bit strenuous at times, but I am glad I finally made it

Up here, for sure. I wouldnt say its a viable farming strategy in legends.
But perhaps 4100 and below, depending on how advanced the player is.
The golem may be a good idea to throw in the mix, but there is the 45 min training time though.
Down lower I usually wouldn't use heroes until the very end to see if I need extra %.

I can't exactly speak for the post-update barching, since I am currently still in silver sucking in the loot till the 1-gem bonuses has dried up.

Before that, barching in champ+ is definitely viable, the only catch is that you need to be a skilled barcher to know which base you should try and which base you should just skip. I always like to have at least a hero (lvl 30+) free so that if i get say 40%+ without heroes, the hero can help to get the last few kills to get that one star. And no spells used, though with lightnings and earthquakes standing by should I need that 1-2% more desperately.

I'm glad to see mods and senior forumers who were (perhaps still are) sceptical about the update are now trying out a few different approaches to inspire others and help them find a way forward.

Experimentation and resourcefulness are the soul of CoC. That's how we got the so-called "many different ways to play" in the first place.

Even so, it would appear that some respondents are unwilling to even contemplate that there may be life after the update.

Instead of demanding OP (whose farming experience is beyond question) jump through hoops to prove something to you, perhaps you could try a little experimentation yourselves? Possibly even post a result or two of your own.

Please try and keep it civil.

With all the recent controversy about barching being nerfed and being forced to create larger armies, I wanted to conduct a little test, at the risk of losing my much loved legend trophies.

So, I decided to take a standard BArch army, and try for league bonus in legend.
Now obviously I wouldn't expect people to push to legend for the bonus, but a 150k (ish) bonus in champs is fairly decent for a barch attack, and rather easy for even a Town Hall 9 to achieve. I did it my whole farming life.

So, the army consisted of 80 Barbarians, 160 archers, 1 poison, 1 EQ spell (not needed), 5 lightning spells, (Which werent all needed, see video), heroes and Clan Castle troops.

Total army cost = 230k Elixir (remember not all spells will be needed, and they are half the army cost) and 180DE.
Total loot gained from league bonus is 340k Gold, 340k Elixir and 2400 DE.
That's a profit of 340k Gold, 110k Elixir (at least) and 2220 DE just in league bonus.
Then in the actual raid I made:

    Total profit:
    701,237 Gold.
    200,866 Elixir.
    2231 Dark Elixir.

And that is from one raid, on an army that took half an hour to cook. I urge clashers to move up the leagues a bit, and start looking at the league bonus as a viable source of income, instead of relying on collector bases.
And as a bonus! It's incredibly rare you dont get a shield up here!

but how about us who just got started clashing..we have so much fun then now we are good as not nothing for good..hope supercell look into this..
