I'm not warring because I can't save enough loot to upgrade stuff so I'm not about to waste it on 2 attacks in a war I could lose and not get anything for. This is also how many of my clan mates see it. I don't think a strike is necessary since the new system is causing people to stay out of war anyway. Just don't have enough resources to use in it anymore.

I don't agree with your call for strike but I have to say we have warred twice since update at its been a disaster both times.
We're not an amazing war clan, were a group of friends and some take it more seriously then others. Pre update we won probably half of wars and lost the other half.
Since update we have been matched with ridiculous all out war clans with max heros that clearly outweigh us on weighting.
Additionally the more casual players on our side have been struggling to get loot to commit to a war army. It's hard to justify the million elixir cost of war armies when you know your going to lose.
I suspect participation in war has fallen exponentially following the update and not because of your call to boycott.
