I have not posted much. I have been trying to figure out what I like and don't like about this update over the last couple of weeks. After this short amount of time, I am still trying to figure it out. I know I will be hit with the "adapt" from people. I was a farmer. And for all of those that say I don't know how to attack, I have 509 war stars and get 3 star attacks against fellow th9 bases in clan wars on a regular basis (2 in my last war) and can 2 star th10s (sometimes). I am the leader of my clan (full and level 7). I am a maxed th9 with level 15 heroes and just working on level 10 walls now (30 to go). I have been playing for over a year.
Enough about me.
I guess the problem I am having now is that this game just isn't much fun right now, outside of war. It is just killing me. I really enjoyed this game. I don't mind attacking tougher bases (I'm in masters 1 by the way). I don't even mind getting my base attacked. I know people hated the th sniping. It didn't bother me much as a farmer. I used it. The thing is, now that my th is inside, I actually have a shield more than I did when it was outside. I always attacked through a shield and lost it, thereby opening up my base for a th snipe (hopefully for me) or a full attack (happened a lot more than I cared for). Now when I attack, I still have a shield. I am not making any progress now though. My de is insane. I can get 20-30k de in a day. That is awesome. The gold is ok, not great. The elixir is horrible. I basically stay even. I don't want to stop playing, as I love the war aspect of this game. I just can't see myself ever moving to th10 if this is going to be the state of gold and elixir looting. I hope they (SuperCell) will do something to make this game fun again, and no I am not saying bring back th sniping. I don't care about that. I do wish the game would be appealing to both casual and hard core gamers again. I loved that pre update you could farm or be a trophy pusher. It was your (my) choice. I hate not being able to choose how I play. Maybe that is what is really bothering me about this update. I lost my choice. Again, I am surviving after this update, just not enjoying the game play. I know I will be called a whiner. That is fine. I just felt I needed to voice my opinion as I have read a ton of what others have been posting. I hope that I am in the minority and this game if fun for all that reads this.
I'm practically in the same boat. You can just play for now, accept the slow progress, and hold on, hoping for a change that I'm sure will come. Who knows how long it will take or if they are even competent enough considering this mess. It will take some perfect tweaking but I do believe it is possible to make the game great (for most, not everyone).
Personally, I've already started putting more time in other games and less on this one. Sour grapes. It is what it is. If you really love the game, just hold on and "adapt" for now. Or go into low leagues like everyone else if you are hungry for easier loot and more active playstyle.
