I'd like to get an idea of what strategies people (TH10s mainly) have been using for farming post update. There have been a lot of debates. Better to use full armies in higher leagues? Better to go efficient and nickel and dime people in silver? Is superqueen dead? Goblins? Answer the questions below to give a synopsis of how you've been farming post-TH11 update. Feel free to submit multiple strategy synopses, if you have been trying several things.
1: Strategy Name and Army composition
2: Approximate trophy range
3: Quantity/Type of spells
4: Are either hero required, or optional?
5: Your primary loot target (Gold? E? DE?)
6: Approximate time between raids, non boosting (this includes spells if you use a lot, or hero regen. times if they are required)
7: Can you hit other well developed TH10s or do you rely on picking on TH9s?
8: Describe the strategy the success you were having. Were you finding good loot? How much could you take? Strengths/Weaknesses of the strategy? Are you happy with this strategy or looking for a new one?
Here are my write-ups for the strategies I have been using:
1: GiBarch. 20 Giants, 3:1 Archer/Barb, 4 WB, 2 hogs (cc lure)
2: 3200+
3: 1 Heal, 1 Rage, 1 Jump, 1 Poison
4: Not required, but very helpful
5: DE, but get a good chunk of others
6: Around an hour
7: Yes, it can usually get the DE from most TH10s.
8: This was my primary pre-update strategy. Good loot, plus good champ loot bonus. I stopped using it after the update to drop for snipes in silver, and due to the fact that my own DE was now being taken in champs. However this is a solid strategy and I'm considering returning to it.
1: GiGob. 12-15 Giants, 20Barb/20Arch, 4WB, ~100 gobs
2: Anywhere
3: 1 Jump required, heal optional, 1 poison
4: Not required
5: Solely DE
6: No more than 30 mins
7: Works on strong TH10s, but some designs better than others
8: Basically you create a resource funnel with the barbs and archers. Then send giants in one pack, jump to the DE, and after about 5 secs, you stream the gobs in to the DE. It gets the DE maybe 75% of the time. Upsides are that this is cheap, not spell or hero dependent, and gets loads of DE. Downside is you usually lose, unless gobs grab the TH. Also, you get very little gold/elixir. Also it can fail if gobs hit a bomb. I've decided to switch away from this for now.
1: Superqueen, 8 healers, 40+ minions, 4-8 WB
2: Anywhere, but preferrably masters and below
3: 1 jump, 1 rage, 1 poison
4: AQ required
5: DE is primary target, but you get some of the others
6: ~30 mins. 1.5 hours if you let the queen die
7: Very difficult on TH10s. Mostly rely on picking on TH9s.
8: I spent some time testing the new superqueen mechanics. My conclusion is that is is still possible, but more fail prone, and probably not the most effective strategy. I start with 6 healers on the queen and sprinkle the other 2 in as some die. The upside is that it still works, and is a cheap efficient way to get DE. The downsides are that the queen is more fragile under heal post update (even mine at lv 35) and thus more likely to die. Also, you rely on hitting th9s, which isn't great for a th10. I don't think this will be my go to farming strategy currently.
My final verdict is that I will probably be pushing back to champs to gibarch. I don't like the long spell wait time, and the fact that in champs, my loot gets taken also. However, you can pull in 4k de including bonus, and still pay the gold and elixir bills. However, I'd like to hear what everyone else is using. Hopefully this thread can help some people out.
