I've got 20 walls left before I'm super maxed th 8. After reading numerous threads, th 9 loot seems to be the most affected and has become near impossible. Even in th 8, I find myself nexting 2 to 3 times more than pre update.
Question is, is it worth upgrading with the current economic state, or wait for maybe a month or so to see if SC will do anything?
After getting my walls finished of course.

might as well upgrade, unless you dont mind wasting any loot you have because you cant spend it. you could just upgrade and dump into walls while farming queen. no one attacks you if all you have is de.

I have a few members surviving as new TH9s just fine (not crazy farmers and progress is not spectacular, but noticeable), it's much harder than before for sure but if you hang out in low leagues and are raiding actively (and cheaply) you should progress. Be prepared to be destroyed regularly though. If you were planning a 8.5 stress free, expect to have a very rough time though.
You could upgrade but only 20 walls left? You made it his far, may as well finish then upgrade. Th9 loot isnt that bad btw so dont worry too much. There are always the growing pains of a new th but it only gets easier.
If you upgrade forget about getting any loot. Read around and look at who's having major loot problems, they're people who recently went to a new th.
Don't. Just enjoy being max th8.
Don't get into the trap of being new th9
The game is much more fun in TH9 to be honest, well worth the grind. Forever TH9 why not, forever TH8 heck no.
Try to rush these last walls and jump in. If you're active you will be just fine. (Make sure the first day you reach TH9 you have all the shinies to get lab/sf/queen and all that jazz.)
go to 9. Get a queen and be a boss.
