Let's not forget that probably 70-80% of those people joined the forums to complain and disagree with the update. Those who liked it will just be playing the game happily.

This is a false assumption. Many hate the update and just uninstall the game without posting. Then there is a large number of players who hate it, still play but don't care enough to post here. And there are some others who don't speak english that well, so they won't come to complain. From my circle of friends and relatives, 2 friends stopped playing without coming to the forums, 2 other friends really hate this update but don't speak english. My wife and one of my kids couldn't care less, and my other kid loves the update, he's been pushing since the update came out and he doesn't even mind nexting for 45 minutes for loot. No clue how he can be so patient.

So that's 8 people (me included) out of which only 1 really likes the update, 2 doesn't care, 5 hates it, but only 1 person came to the forms.

So you can't conclude that people who don't come the forums like the new update. They might, they might not. Fact is, we have no clue because they don't voice their opinions and none of us have access to a meaningful sample of players that are not contaminated by groupthink. If you hate the update, it is likely you will be surrounded by people who also hate it. If you love it, chances are you are surrounded by people who also love it. So in reality none of us know what the majority of players think.
