You do not release a major update without it being planned out well enough in the first place.
12/10/2015. The start of the great clash depression.
The day farming died.
No.
No it is not clear that SC has done anything to actually fix the game. They tweaked the PBT, something that no one wants. It is now a turd cake instead of a turd sandwich perhaps. Still a flavour that no one wants for free let alone buy.
Other than that, they have done nothing.
the "Real Chiefs" who have the time, money and patience will to devote to the game will meet the challenge!

Please provide evidence of this. The only thing i have seen is one quote from a minor SC team member. Certainly nothing that would give me confidence anything is actually being done.
I agree being personally abusive is wrong. Most of the posts do not call the developers a bunch of funny smelling goat herders. Ratger they are documenting the very real discontent with this update. Therefore they are completely valid.
Wrong. Flat out wrong. The PBT debacle is perhaps the biggest mistake SC has made. The loot imbalance may be fixable with a significant ( tripling) of the win bonus for lower tiers, but pbt is just a convoluted mess that needs to be scrapped altogether.
SC has a history of not responding quickly to major bugs in the game that were created by their incompetence during updates. Two examples
1) Last year during the summer of 2014 they had an issue where many clans became unsearchable, literally you could not find them. It took SC more than 3 months to fix their error.
2) This spring they created a new gui that made the game nearly unplayable on android devices. Again it took almost 3 months to fix thrir error.
Here we are again, with another poorly tested poorly designed update that has major flaws. Do you consider 3 months a good response time?
You have nailed it on the head. Players do need to raid to progress. At the moment loot is bad enough even that is not a guarantee. ..
If the loot can be fixed then the casual (read majority of CoC players) will be ok. If not the game dies.
At least the casual players don't worry sbout pbt malarky.
Not an exploit. Putting one's town hall out was an acknowledged way to utilize game mechanics. 3 years ago SC even agreed it was smart. I get why they changed their mind, i think it was stupid but i get it.
Frankly i think they should have found a better way to manage bot players.
As i mentioned before, your faith is misplaced. SC has repeatedly failed to live up to the implicit contract between a software provider and user, namely not to break things snd if they do fix it fast.
I have faith in God's redeeming grace. I am confident the sun will shine tomorrow. I will believe in SC when they start communicating with the players of their games in a forthright manner snd take actions appropriate to the magnitude of the issue.
In this case, an appropriate action would be the resignation of the head of the Clash of Clans product team.
Because I have seen dozens of other companies butcher and eat their golden goose because they were hungry.
Supercell is no different.
They didnt eliminate TH snipes because "it was against the spirit of the game" they eliminated them because it allowed f2p players to progress at a reasonsble speed.
They only make money by frustruating their player base into spending money to get around their roadblocks. Its one of the traps of f2p gaming. If you make a game too good people play for free.
When will the update for the update be released? What will they change? Will it make it better? Should I still play? I need to know ASAP. I have $$$ burning a hole in my iPad and want to know whether I should hold out for Clash a bit longer or jump ship to a new game I discovered and like a lot.
That's the problem. SC has said nothing. If they would say something, anything, to let us know they've heard us and will be fixing it, then we'd be ok waiting for an update, but they haven't. The longer SC waits, the stronger the pull to jump ship gets...
