How am I supposed to make progress if i'm actually losing more than making???

im struggling with finding dark elixir and elixir. can upgrading troops and king/queen be considered as making progress?

the same as me, I'm a new th9 trying to save up for giants for my raids, I'm stuck at three mill elixir, I can't find decent bases to gain that elixir when I do get a few hundred k extra I'm raided and lose three to four hundred k

its just a never ending wheel I can't upgrade my troops so can't take on better bases

You decided that defending your loot in multi-player was less important than war matching. A conscious choice by you. What you are asking is to be able to manipulate one aspect of the game with no repercussions in another. Think about it. This mentality, and complaining about it, makes it difficult for the real issues of the game to be heard and acted upon.

This is what SC has reduced farming to. Have fun...

I would suggest against that unless you have all day to nickel and dime people.

Upgrade your defenses, build a real th10 and move up into proper leagues.

Hello guys and gals. Long term player here, only raid 2 to 5 times a day. Been playing for 2.5 years straight (I have 3 accounts). Never wrote a complaint towards any game before as I would just quit the game but this game, man, how can I leave my clanmates behind. The ONLY reason I am still sticking around is because of MY CLANMATES. We have been together since the beginning, they still play though, but definitely way less than before. I'm pretty much the one who provide troops to them for war or raiding.
Now let's jump to the point. Raiding now sucks. Defending even more sucks. I hardly find a base with a decent amount of loot and able to pay off my army costs (GiBarch if u wonder). I have tried various trophy range and I am just sick of hitting "Next". Here is my Attack Log, barely a raid, just tried to drop trophies, I only log on the game to collect loot from collectors and donate troops to my clan members, that's pretty much it. no raiding at all.
So my question is: How can i even make progress anymore if i'm losing way more loot than making now?
Don't tell me to gem as they will never get a penny from my pocket anymore (I did gem my base, $1500 so far).
Don't tell me to play more than often as I have a life.
If i don't see any response from them by this weekend, then I guess I will have to say goodbye to my clanmates.

That's the short answer - you can't. Game eventually grinds to a halt with the rules "as intended". I would never have started playing such a game, and frankly nor would millions of others. Sure, a few 1000s of players might enjoy such a game, but even they would eventually find it dull without the rest of us to feed on.

Right now raiding is almost pointless, unless you need modest amounts of gold and are willing to lose elixir to get it. League bonuses are a joke - they don't cover the cost of even gibarch, let alone an expensive war army - they don't even cover the cost of the next button. And you really have to wipe out the other guy to get the bonus or you settle for a partial bonus. You will be pressing next endlessly looking for a base that has loot and isn't a TH 9/10 fortress with black flaming walls and xbows.

Right now living off your collectors is actually the most cost efficient move, unless you're one of the top guns with maxxed high level bases. But don't try to save more than about 1.5 mil of any resource, and certainly not of both at the same time. Because at that point you will be slammed for 250k losses that your collectors barely recover during your shield period.

That is not what I am saying. I am saying exactly what I wrote. Play however you like. NOBODY is forcing you to do otherwise. It is the complaining about not keeping loot because you CHOOSE to not defend it that is absurd.

you have been punished for manipulating/exploiting the game for your own purpose. accept it, it your decision from long ago.
You must balance the offensive and defensive strength.

Maybe you should screan shot your base so we can get it sorted. Ive only been hit a few times since the update. You base must be a red rag to a bull for farmers

So you think you shouldn't be penalized in farming if you were taking advantage of the war matchmaking? That's not how things should work. You manipulated the war matchmaking by not building defenses. That should hurt you in farming, and now it does. That's one thing I really like about the update.
