    Why TH sniping rocked!

I didn't realize until the update just how important TH sniping was to COC. I am writing this from a nearly Max th 9, just waiting on Heros and walls now.

    1. It enabled casual play. When I could only attack twice a day I could still make progress as I would often get sniped. Now if I don't have time to keep up with getting attacked I lose net income.

    2. It injected money into the economy via win bonuses

    3. It gave dead bases a chance to build up loot before they were raided again.

    4. It allowed me to choose my style of play. I could pull my th inside and push for trophies or keep it out and just farm.

    5. The game was simply more fun to play because I could walk away from it worry free because I usually wasn't going to get completely looted.

I know supercell has a lot of ego's invested in keeping things the way they are and we all know how stubborn people can get when fixing something means they need to admit they were wrong. But this was one of the mechanics that made coc an enjoyable game to play so hopefully they will check their ego's at the door and make the changes that need to be made to make this a great game again.

There was so much more to the TH snipe, that I don't think both us and SC knew to the full extent.

Yea they likely didn't realize how central it was to the game, likely in way more ways then I mentioned, but now the ego demands they defend their position. Hopefully cooler heads prevail and they fix the problem.

    TH-sniping was life...

And I'm not even exaggerating here.

I've said it in countless threads, and I'll say it here too.

It was said that up to 80% of attacks in certain leages were TH snipes. I thoroughly believe this to be true.

Just think about that in terms of league bonus. All of that loot pumped into the system. Better yet, free loot. Didn't have to pay but a dime to get it.

Well, that's all gone now. Sure you got your league bonus, but unless you get 70% you get less, and you have to spend, lets face it, a good amount of resource on the army to obtain in.

Now the slow progress may be ok to some, and that's fine. But think of it on a huge scale, all of that loot, up to 80% has been lost.

    That's a lotta loot, shoot!

Of course there are so many more reasons, but my fingers are growing tired lol..

Was loot pumped into the "economy", or was it pumped into 1 persons storages who themeselves hid behind a snipe shield and never dispersed into the "economy"?

Those people who sniped a gazillion th's didn't always hide. To find and take a snipe, you need to raid. In order to raid, you need to break shield.

You can say all you like about hiding behind shields, but to get those snipes, you had to break it.

Whether that was the case or not, Seven, in general people had/felt they had more loot available to them so they could/felt they could progress at a certain pace. It's that pace that has been cut by a large factor by the update and that's why people are experiencing the game has become less fun.

Hate on/ridicule the snipers all you want, but it won't make this problem go away.

Edit: And I'm with harrisman on this, snipers were available for proper looting and and I've been wrecked many a time. The loot that player stole came from sniping (at least in part) and has now been removed, it is as simple as that.

Not hating on sniping, voice, just stating that sniping generally didn't pump loot in the economy and rather into one persons storages and for the most part was never dispersed to the economy.
