As a TH9 I hardly ever get TH8's to attack (they are about as rare as dead bases), so I'll hardly be leaving the game if th7's and th8's do drop off. However, I assume that there must be other TH8's who, like me, live off attacking their equals.
Here's my predictions the way the game currently stands.
if things are not sorted quickly then the th7/8s will quit the game and be pulled out the searches this will leave nothing for th9s then they will soon follow suit with th10s leaving th11's to battle it out.
The loot is absolutely appalling and the lower th's are feeling it first. I can guarentee all the ones happy with the new update are th10/11s but this will change sooner or later when the lower th's quit the game leaving them nothing to feed on. SC have really screwed up with the loot system and you can even see people boosting getting their collectors hit regular
If SC think the boosting collector will temporary halt the problem they are very much mistaken and I'd bet anything in 2-3 days you won't see any boosting as people will be sick of collecting nothing from them. Here lies another mistake as the collectors needed a week boost not a day as peopel won't bother with them. First year I've not even bothered with them
i have several accounts from th8-11 and can see the probs already with the lower accounts so they are just on collecting and walling until something changes. If no solutions are quick or not at all then each account will be shut down, the lowers are bordering quite close to the end already as collecting and walling is not much of a game!

Tough times ahead if things still stand the way they are in a months time. Pre update I was in masters as a TH8.Came to gold 1,crystal 3 after the update. 7 out of 10 attacks, on an average, are made by th9 on me. It has not changed even if I move down to silver 2. Th9s keep attacking me regardless of my league. I have max defense, only minions and go valk need upgrading. King is at 7. I have been managing elixir with raids and wars somehow but it is getting harder as I need to carry a semi war army atleast to raid. Couple that with war and raid donations and I am surprised that I still haven't run out of lix. I don't even know if I would be able to go to th9. I want to max before I move up. What can I do?
For the current update there's still more five star reviews than one star reviews.
Compare that to the previous ratings
At the moment the forum is a bit of an echo chamber for people not happy with the update.
I don't think the percentage of people unhappy is as high as you think.
And app stores are notorious for people with gripes leaving poor reviews vs how difficult it is to get people to leave positive reviews when they are happy.
So overall - yes there are a lot of people not happy - and I hope they can be made happy.
But I think there's huge errors of judgement in these silly predictions
It's not hard to see, just drop to around 1000 trophy mark, loads of dead / semi dead bases building up at quite a rate. I intend maxing my th11's then will probably quit the game. Can't leave the high accounts half finished lol my clan has become quite inactive since update which I don't mind as can play at my own pace or lack of own pace
Or replaced.
I'm a th 8 and in my opinion thing have been slowly but surely getting better. As for being attacked by higher town halls, that's just the nature of the beast.
As a person who likes the update you think I'm going to the app store to rate the game? Nope. I just play on. Its a little harder to get loot, admittedly. But it's not too hard by any means. I moved around trophy levels, adjusted my army, and I've got 4 builders going, the fifth will be going to work tonight.
You need to be somewhat active to play at higher th levels now. If you're a super casual th9, you're gonna struggle to progress. Good.
