If that was a compliment aimed at my OP-analogy: thank you, kind sir.

If that was a fistbump towards keith's lack of an analogy: please let's keep this thread focussed towards (praise of)analogies, and (praise of) analogies only.

Going forward, if a team hasn’t been scored on after 5 minutes, the goalie must leave the ice until the net is attacked by a minimum of 3 players with 30% net destruction.

Skilled players are spending too much time on the ice, also making it difficult for other players to access their net resources. Going forward, any players spending more than 4 minutes on the ice (cumulative) will be sent to the penalty box for a personal break.
Thank you, Milo. I enjoyed reading that very much and it gave me a good chuckle!

    Keep 'em coming people!

    How about this one...

Pfizer invents a new drug that is synthesized in the lab to treat hypertension. In their clinical trials, they discover that this drug has an interesting side effect. It turns out that this drug is even more effective at treating a certain disorder called ED. The drug (Viagra aka TH sniping) soon becomes approved for that use and the drug becomes extremely popular, making Pfizer billions of dollars. A few years down the road, Pfizer says, "You know what? We never intended for this drug to be used to treat ED. This drug was intended to treat Hypertension. That's how it is SUPPOSED to be used. So....from now on we are no longer allowing it to be used as it was not originally intended, so only prescriptions for hypertension will be filled from this point on....

See where I'm going? It would be absolute lunacy for a drug company to do this, but this is essentially what Supercell has done. What Supercell has failed to see that though not originally intended to be played that way, the option to TH snipe/get free shields/etc. was actually what made this game so popular and successful. They have "killed the golden goose" all in the name of idealism. Sad and unfortunate...and completely unnecessary. Unless they act quickly, this game may never recover.

Thank you C'est la vie, I like the analogy, and it gets your point across quite effective.

Anyone else? Perhaps people from the 'jay-update'-camp? It's free shooting in this thread!

You are quite right, Genos, but I think I'll make an exception for idioms. Just this time.

Any more analogies? I feel the jay-update-camp is underrepresented in this thread. Would love to hear some of their thoughts, in the form of an analogy of course.

Is comparing CoC to a retail store too close to the truth and not constitute as an analogy?!

'Closing down sale, Everything must go'

That's when we should get worried about the future of the game - when every attempt to squeeze gems out of us comes

'Clash of cash' and all the other comments about SCs greed...from the Gem spending habits I've witnessed, they've merely taken away all sale items and bargains and left the premium prices (those who gem their loot)

Only the same folk who bought things at the premium price will continue to spend that....everyone else is waiting for the sales to come and boosting etc to be worthwhile
