    Spinning my tires on elixir

Not a fan of the update but I'm doing my best to make the most of it and adapt my playing style.

    - moved up to champions league and go all out with troops and spells to get a win
    - changed my base to protect the TH like I would in war

I'm making gains in both gold and dark elixir but find it really tough to make any significant gains on elixir. I have a few ideas on how to improve the game but stay within the current model:

    - decreased cost for spells and troops
    - increase to elixir won in league bonus
    - change to the formula so less of your elixir is up for grabs when raided

Obviously it might not make sense to implement all but even one would help. Thoughts?

yes, most of us are currently in the elixer drought. for the first one, idk, but i dont see it happening. although i would like that. for the 2nd, i agree, i think all league bonus' should be increased by a lot, so we can make profit and use full out comps.

The elixir drought is real. The kids have stopped playing cause of waiting forever for armies and are not prepared to spend on expensive armies for no elixir in return. I have the same problem. The game is now for experts only and not for noobs anymore..... Some of us will always be noobs who can't break some fancy base for a lot of loot. Just going nowhere.....

I won't hit a target now with less than 200k Elixir and that is when I am hunting DE lol..

If I were hunting Elixir I won't hit one below 300k Elixir.

Elixir is the new Gold. Back in the early days when people were over flowing with elixir but farming gold for their walls (ya know.. when elixir wasn't used for it) you were measured by your GG (Gold Grab) and that is what most of the top players worried about.

Now it's gold.. shmold.. Give me the Elixir.. I am dry over here!

I've been at this game for three years and I'm still on the fence over this update. The one constant I see with every major update has been the inevitable unintended consequences.

The current major flaw is the fact that now, with any dead or easy base forced into the open they are immediately removed from the search queue. This leaves only the tougher bases left that requires players to use near war armies and full spells to make a small profit.

I'm a TH10 playing in Masters and it takes concentrated effort to turn any kind of elixir profit. Since the update my elixir has either gone slightly negative or stayed about even. With clan troop donations, war donations, having to build troops for war AND now having to build max armies and spells just to farm I seriously fear that if something is not done soon I may slowly dwindle down to where I'm left waiting for my collectors to fill before I can even raid.

I can't claim to have an easy answer, but lowering the cost of troops and decreasing their build times would go a pretty large way toward bringing things back to even.

lol I'm a new th9 and I've got 4 elixir buildings going at once. Lab, spell factory, army camp and DE drill. Would've had the 5th one going on elixir but had to do CC. Elixir is fine here!

I actually had an idea about the elixer drought and it came from Supercell's other game Boom Beach.

What they should do effective immediately is have any troops not killed return with you to your village. As in you drop a full war attack and at the end half are alive. Then when you go back you only have to recook what got killed. this saves on time, elixer and makes more sense logically.

    Thoughts?

Wouldnt this be counterproductive because you may be losing proportionately less but also getting proportionately less when attacking?
