They are not just another obstacle to clear. Event obstacles are memoir of a time. When we look at them we remember the time we got it. We want to put them somewhere nice. We'll pay gems for that, don't be too expensive though.

Its an obstacle and what is an "obstacle? Something that blocks your path. You can clearly see I am against it.

And "obstacles" is loose term. With a few words Supercell could announce to call it something else. So I don't see your point as valid for a perspective against.
