    The Elixir Farming Problem

    Pre update getting elixir was as simple as sniping a few townhalls in crystal league. It was simple. However post update elixir has become a ridiculously difficult resource to farm for higher townhalls. This is partially to do with the dismemberment of sniping and a new system for searches that makes it even more likely to find your townhall level on attack. Let's say for instance you're a townhall 10. To cook a farming army at townhall 10 costs about 140k+. Now if you have to hit other townhall 10s (close to max) you may have to drop spells which can cost in excess of 100k. To simply break even you need to take 2 elixir storages and the townhall. And rely on bonus alone to be your profit. Additionally you need to make sure you're winning a raid using farming troops on a townhall 10, you may also be short a hero making the task more daunting. I believe the solution to this to be a raise to bonuses. Supercell wants players to push and they want to encourage attacks. It's a simple and effective solution. When we could snipe the bonus was practically infinite. Now even the most experienced of players are struggling.

    Same situation maybe different solution

    I am new to the Forums but very old to the Game (Stew, Clan Hyperion, Lv145, EE 1.4 Billion, GG 930 Million,HH 4.6 Million). I am basically a near max TH 10 with only walls, infernos, and Xbows and Heros to finish.The Infernos and Xbows on purpose left last for matchmaking.

    Sorry that was so long, but since they already have bumped bonus up they probably will not be willing to visit that again anytime soon. Now that defense's have become so important maybe make them profitable by the Tombstones left behind on a attack for a successful defense say a percentage of the total elixer or dark elixer paid for the troop.Then go back to the regular amount left for a failed defense.This might have been already talked about but like I said I am new to the forums and would not be here at all if not for the new update and complete change in farming.

    I have had a lot of successful defenses on my base since the update but because my upgrades cost so much even 1 storage (Dark main issue) it can be a huge setback with no shield.

    Same problem, different solution

    I'm having a similar problem making profit in elixir since we can't snipe town halls anymore.

    I think that a tombstone should have 50% of the elixir/dark elixir value that was used on the troop that was killed. This way you also get rewarded for a good defense.
    For example, a balloon costs 4500 elixir.
    So the tombstone from a destroyed balloon should be worth 2250 elixir.

    So if I am attacked by an army of 40 balloons, and I defeat them all, I would get a total of 90,000 elixir from those tombstones. Obviously all troops aren't that valuable, but it would make up for some lost resources without an arbitrary reimbursement of resources.

    I think that is an appropriate amount to recoup from a large attack, doesn't require changes to the loot that were already done, and rewards good defenses.

    I'm too lazy to read through all of your posts, but from what I've read so far I agree with you guys. I'm a near max TH9 just working upgrading my walls to level 10 and my heroes a couple of more levels, before I was going to upgrade to TH10. Since the new update came out I haven't had more than 300,000 elixir. Plus if you don't get a near 3-star the bonus is actually much smaller than it was before, so you have to use all of your troops no matter what in order to get a high enough damage percentage.

    I Concur

    I farmed for 4 hours today and only made 1Million elixir. its basically not even worth my time playing anymore. i used to average 2.3mill ever 2 hours of gold and elixir each. my clan mates have said they all are experiencing the same struggle farming. to farm an army camp at th10 id have to farm for almost 28 hours to get it. such a waste of time.

    Agree- this update has killed farming, and its really disappointing.

    I just don't get why there was such drastic change to the farm aspect of the game- thats why war is there, right?? It's redundant to have a war base, and now another war base. Don't even get me started about the PBT...

    It really does feel like an effort to push more players to buy gems, and while I can only speak for myself- It's totally backfired. Zero desire to purchase anymore.

    Bring back farming, SC.

    agreed. made a profit of negative 400,000 elixir after 1.5 hrs of farming. maybe it was bc i was going for de. but absolutely the loot is dying.
