Yeah getting to 6 million elixir is tough as an early TH9. It was tough when I did it (pre-update), even tougher now I'd imagine.

Make sure to spread your elixir storages out (so you don't lose all 4 every defense) the best you can, and try to keep your gold totals LOW (spend it all on walls, or cheap early TH9 upgrades and traps) until you get close because having only 1 type of resource available to be stolen makes you a less lucrative target.

If you heroes are low enough level (likely as an early TH9), keep your builders busy on hero upgrades with any DE you have trickling in while you're saving your elixir. If your gold's low, DE low, and the only resource you're offering is elixir you'll get rolled far less often.

Lastly, offense wise be patient and look for bases that are loaded with elixir and poorly defended when 'nexting.' I'm constantly amazed at some of the HORRIBLE layouts I find when searching for raids, take advantage of these bases when you find them. Also, since you're saving elixir you might consider bringing earthquakes to aid in coring, minimizing your regular spell usage (since they cost regular elixir).

Thanks for the advice... luckily I can dump gold into my walls because I have mostly lvl 7. (to lazy to get all 8) The de is not a problem because I have weak heroes like you said. I am currently using loonian in crystal 1 and gaining elixer pretty fast. Hopefully I will have giants before supercell makes another update.

Personally, I would recommend using an army comp based heavily in DE if you can. Use golems, witches, quakes, and sprinkle in some giants and wiz. Use quakes and haste and maybe only 1 or 2 elixir based spells. The less elixir you spend during raids the quicker you will accumulate it.

Know the exact elixir cost of your army and do not hit a base offering anything less than that. Idealy you're hitting bases that offer much more than your army cost because we know that getting all of it every time is probably unreasonable.

Set a goal for yourself in regards to how much elixir profit you want per raid. (count your bonus as well). This will help you to better identify the bases you want to hit.

Be patient when searching for potential raid targets, stick to the guidelines you have set for yourself and you will see your elixir grow.

Dump your gold into walls while your elixir storages fill. You don't want to be an even juicier target if possible.

Keep your elixir storages spread out on your base and not all together.

Watch your defensive replays and make adjustments to your base.

Attack through shield and make the most of your time you have to play.

I have followed this strategy since the update and have been making regular progress on my elixir. The same can be applied for gold and DE as well.

I was using loonian but I see your point about spending less elixer... I mostly go for 200k+ raids in crystal so I get that+ loot bonus... If I use the gowi strat with cc wizards I can probably gain elixer pretty fast... thanks for the tips!

If you strictly want elixir I still do bam with 30 minions. It's fast and you can find quite a few dead bases in crystal

What I dislike about loonion is unlike gibarch where you can just queue the barch portion of it before searching and can only use barch (save Giants wb) on dead bases, you can't with loonion.
