    Permanently Save Replays [Petition]

    - You should be allowed to save at least 3 replays permanently.

    - You should be able to choose if the replays are private, public or clan only.

    - All public and clan only replays should be easily accessible from one list for clan members.

    - You should be able to add a short title and long description to each replay.

    - You should be able to save PvP and war replays.

    - You should be able to increase the number of replays you can save with gem$.

Please vote in the poll and comment with /signed if you want this.

They would have to be saved as video files. If they can do that, maybe. I don't see the point though. And if you really want it, record your screen.

Who cares how they store it? The point is you can easily show good replays to people without needing screen capture and third party hosting.

You can use it as an example so when someone fails an attack you can say "Go check out Joe's replay to see how to do that".

You can also use them to interview people requesting to join your clan.

I would certainly like to see the game natively producing replay videos. I tried to produce videos of the replays myself by recording the screen but the result was not very good.

CoC replays and “live” replays are not actually replays but recontructions of events with the elements at the time of recording.

Any change in how those elements operate, both defensive and offensive, will change the reconstruction. This includes mechanics, hp, dps.

It is simply impossible to restore a replay after any prolonged period of time. You are asking too much of a game designed for mobile platforms.

I like the idea but really that why we have youtube. People record their screen and choose to share their replays on a platform specialised for such things. Otherwise it's difficult for game designers and the game becomes a bit cluttered.

They can be stored as a video files or in many other formats. Look at the immersive archer video they made, could do something like that so you still have zoom. I hate the word impossible when it comes to technology.

The game runs on mobile but there are a bunch of servers powering it, the videos could be stored there.

This would cause lag in the game because so many videos are being permanently saved. right?

Only if SuperCell employed clowns as engineers. The code that generates the permanent replay could be on your device and the place that stores the replays could be a completely separate file storage system than the game servers so one would not impact the other.

In 2014 YouTube reported that 300 hours of new videos were uploaded every minute. I am sure SuperCell can figure out how to handle a few what (1,000,000 players x 3 videos x 3min = 9,000,000 minutes / 150,000hr) which equals 500 minutes of YouTube uploads (8.3hr) total.

They could add a time limit to save the replays, say 6 months and let you refresh it daily so inactives get deleted.

Also, lets not forget that they could limit the permanent replays to one and charge gems to unlock more slots. I'm sure it would be a highly profitable feature and only at the cost of gemers and not the entire community.
