Adding Attack Speeds To Buildings - Know Actual Damage per Hit!

    Actual Damage Per Hit

So, I don't know about you guys, but I've always wanted to be able to know
just how much damage per hit buildings do, to know how much damage they do
    to my troops.

And, I came up with this simple idea to help out.
I would just like to apologise quickly for my AWFUL image editing skills.
But I'm sure you get the point, hopefully.

Now, I left it as 1.3/1.3 for two reasons:
    A) Most other things are like that
    B) I was entertaining the possibility of being able to upgrade it, however
that would mean having to balance DPS and it would probably be worse. Lol.

Also, I was thinking about doing this for troops as well, which would also work, but I
think that the one image has both exhausted my image editing skills for today, and it
stands for all buildings and troops.

Anyway, let me know what you think on this one.

    Thanks in advance,
    Coopercape

    I personally like the idea.

But... (sorry) there is a reason why the stats are kept simple. Otherwise it would have been added sooner.

It is needed for things like the Mortar, since the DPS is very deceptively. It has a low firing rate, but the impact it has when it does is... wow! Bye bye most tier one troops, especially Archers at or lower than the motar's level.

Not Many people are into numbers and SC doesn't want to make player's eyes glaze over from the mess of numbers.

It has been mentioned before, and I'm sure SC knows the demand for it, and given how the new info screen looks, they might be (I hope) might be doing just that later down the road.

We'll have to wait and see... It basically hinges on trying to find the right way to display it.

Thank you.. I was wondering what to say to him.

What about if a wizard tower fires and the troops move? They don't get damaged even though it is splash. Ever think that is weird? Even if it is minimized that should still deal damage right?

Didn't look at it like that...

I didn't really look at it like that lol. I've always been the kind of guy to whip out a calculator and work out everything possible (sad but true), and it just irked me slightly that I had to assume or head over to the cheeky clash wiki to see...
I can't really think of any other solution, and I thought it looked quite snug sitting there, but oh well... I'll just have to wait until someone much more clever than I can...

That is another detail! Sure-Hit shots, and Location Based shots. Archer Towers, Cannons, Air Defense, X-Bows, Inferno Towers, those always hit, if the target is still alive at the time it fires. You can even see cannon shells curve towards targets as they walk perpendicular to the cannon. Mortars, Wizard Towers, and every type of bomb trap, they hit a location, and do damage that is within a set distance. The issue with the two Slapsh damage defenses is that they can't home in on troops after being fired. So if the targets move from the spot fast enough, it misses. It isn't often with Wizard Towers, but is with Mortars.

How can you explain that in just a few intuitive words, with maybe a cute little icon?

That's the issue SC has when it tries to get too detailed. But like I said, they have updated the info screen, and I can easily see them adding more info into the new design.

I like the idea of it, but it is a bit too complex for some of the younger players of the game, who wouldn't understand what this is fully.

If you want to find out more about defenses attack speeds and whatnot, you can take a visit to the wikia. There's lots of information over there, including the attack speed and damage per hit of defenses.

Anyway, here are the attack speeds of all defenses:

    Inferno Tower - Constant Damage
    X Bow - 0.128s
    Archer Tower - 0.5s
    Tesla - 0.7s
    Cannon - 0.8s
    Air Defense - 1s
    Wizard Tower - 1.3s
    Mortar - 5s
Eagle Artillery - 1 Cycle (3 Artillery Blasts) every 11.5s
    Clash Royale: Level 9, Highest Trophies = 3020, Donations = 5,034

    Second Solution...

    The Second Solution?

Firstly, I would like to thank TheScavenger350 for that awesome info! Had to Screenshot that!

I was reflecting on what you guys said and I thought (probably unoriginal idea...again)
why not add a second screen? So I got to work on my bad image editing skills and...

So you can see here that there is the blue ... for going onto a new page.

On this second page, you could have damage per hit and shock-wave damage if troops move
and it sort of ended up like this.

Again, I apologise for bad image editing..

Please, tell me if you think this is plausible...
I do believe this is a more simple way to display it, and it tells you the information well.
Also, I know the information doesn't make sense between pictures, but hopefully you get my meaning.

    Thanks in advance,
    Coopercape.

That is pretty much how I imagine it would likely be done. Have the simple stuff up front, and the details after pressing the details button.

I really doubt SC will add firing speed improvements to defences or troops, so really it should be listed on the button half, with the rest of the fixed stats. Things that vary with each upgrades are the only things that get a progress bar on the side of their values, along with icons.

Now that I think about the formatting, and you just want to add two stats, you can split things up and still keep in one page. Give DPS a new icon, (Explosion with a Clock or [1-Sec] next to it) and put Damage Per Hit (same Explosion Icon, with [1-Hit], [Per Hit], or some kind of easy to recognize as a single hit) under it. It would be easy to add just one more stat to the info screen without much issue. Then you put Firing Rate stat with the rest of the fixed stats, which has no icon. So you have one new progressive stat with a progress bar and Firing Rate stat in the lower half, both of which can be shoehorned in with the current format.
