Update is particularly bad for TH8?

Upper end TH8 here. I am getting taken for 500k elixir and 3800-4000 DE every 24 hours. Predominately by mid-level to upper TH9's and TH8's using gowipe (working on a base change to help with that). I can barely keep ahead of the DE losses but I am hemorraging elixir like nuts between war, dark raids, donations, and being looted. I am trying to be grateful for being done with all my elixir upgrades but I am upset on behalf of those who aren't or who have found themselves delaying a TH upgrade for fear of how they will support it. From just my experience, I don't know how 8's or new 9's are going to be able to save for elixir or dark heavy upgrades.***I lie, yeah I do. Buy a shield from SC and buy those daily pump boosts for a week or so at a time. You know, as the game "was meant to be played". /end sarcasm/Additional info: I am hanging around in C1/M3. A careless 8 shoved me right into Masters.

Change your base however you want, my TH9 loonion is taking it all no matter what you do.

Forget about saving up 6 million elixir as an early 9 for loons/giants now.. New 9s and 8s are just too weak defensively to play the game really.

TH8 in my opinion is pretty much the end game now...

You will probably never max it let alone go passed it, for the great majority of players who just download and mess around with CoC.

I don't think it is as bad for maxed th8s as it is for new th9s. Which is why my wife gave up on her plans to upgrade her town hall to 9 after she finishes all the walls at th8. All her defenses are maxed and almost all the research completed (currently researching Earthquake and then she has only Valks left). I also told both my kids to stay at th8 until we see what SC does to fix the situation.

So I have two accounts, a TH9 and a TH8. Having to defend on my 9, while annoying, isn't the end of the world, although I agree with all of the anti-update arguments on how it's ruining the argument. TH8, on the other hand, is pretty much screwed. Here goes:

So, as a 9, I can defend against most farming armies. Sure, they might get a couple storages, but my DE isn't getting hit that badly (I also don't have as much DE, but that's another story of brokenness from the update). My TH8, on the other hand, has zero ability to defend its DE from TH8s. Of course, the game is designed to pick on the little guys, and TH8s can pick on TH7s.. but TH7s never have a decent amount of DE, and there are far fewer rich TH7s than rich TH8s. TH8s also can't survive and raid efficiently in leagues where the league bonus is anything substantial. If a TH8 wants to save for something like golems, even with the reduction in DE given to 9s it's still a guarantee that you're getting hit for 1600 DE every third raid, and there aren't any efficient raid armies to get it back. 3 dragon raids are going to cost over a million elixir, and I can rely on loonion to get maybe a thousand DE per raid, but given the fact that I have to sleep one of the shield cycles it's never going to get there.

Sure, SC defenders can make the argument that TH8 sucks go to TH9, but I already have a higher account and used to really enjoy TH8 warfare. Now that they get the donated spell they can just run mass hogs with 45 hogs and any base will fall easy.. Thanks for ruining TH8, Supercell.

The update is bad for everyone besides the big spenders. SC put the final nail in the coffin. They're a bunch of dumbasses.

My TH8 acc (last AT upgrading 1/2walls done) is in crystal 3 atm, loving it... All the snipers/barchers with no clue how to attack are getting 30-40% and no DE, yeah I've been steamrolled a few times by th9s with full armies and spells, but if you've got a well designed base (I'm not posting mine ) it definitely seems the place to be for 8s right now.

Your wife and I are in the same boat. Whatever plans I had for moving up are on perma hold. I can't justify the amount of time it now requires to get ahead.

What do you guys think about SC making loot loss as an alternate condition to getting a shield? Maybe it can be 30% destruction OR 50% loot loss from storages.

100% agree.

I'm myself a TH8 trying level up my golems to 2, and i'm having lot of trouble keeping safe my DE. TH9 just rekt me and steal 2k DE, TH8 with GoWiPe can also steal my DE, most of my playtime is about to get back what has been stole during the night...

And if i can't find decend targets with DE, i just lose more DE than i can earn...

League bonus sucks, TH7 haven't lot of DE to steal and TH8 requier a war army to get in their base and steal the DE (meaning way longer training time, and less profit cuz of armies training cost).

Everytime my shield drops (16hours), someone steal 2k DE, that's painfull, i'm just playing to try to get back my stolen DE...

I'm about to leave CoC, i can't play 4 hours per day trying to steal DE to counter what will be stolen next time...

This update sucks.
