Update is particularly bad for TH8?

So I have two accounts, a TH9 and a TH8. Having to defend on my 9, while annoying, isn't the end of the world, although I agree with all of the anti-update arguments on how it's ruining the argument. TH8, on the other hand, is pretty much screwed. Here goes:

So, as a 9, I can defend against most farming armies. Sure, they might get a couple storages, but my DE isn't getting hit that badly (I also don't have as much DE, but that's another story of brokenness from the update). My TH8, on the other hand, has zero ability to defend its DE from TH8s. Of course, the game is designed to pick on the little guys, and TH8s can pick on TH7s.. but TH7s never have a decent amount of DE, and there are far fewer rich TH7s than rich TH8s. TH8s also can't survive and raid efficiently in leagues where the league bonus is anything substantial. If a TH8 wants to save for something like golems, even with the reduction in DE given to 9s it's still a guarantee that you're getting hit for 1600 DE every third raid, and there aren't any efficient raid armies to get it back. 3 dragon raids are going to cost over a million elixir, and I can rely on loonion to get maybe a thousand DE per raid, but given the fact that I have to sleep one of the shield cycles it's never going to get there.

Sure, SC defenders can make the argument that TH8 sucks go to TH9, but I already have a higher account and used to really enjoy TH8 warfare. Now that they get the donated spell they can just run mass hogs with 45 hogs and any base will fall easy.. Thanks for ruining TH8, Supercell.

You just don't know where to farm the most efficiently. As a TH9 I can't say this would be perfect for TH8s, but try sniping in silver 2. I know a couple TH8s that were able to get all 60k needed in just one session.

Sniping is about to be done for.. And sniping isn't playing the game any more. I know how to farm, SC has ruined farming, and my TH8 has no way to defend when it gets hit. I can't remember the last time I saw a TH8 on my TH9 and didn't think "I can three star this base with easy".

Sniping is actually more alive than you think. For some reason there are quite a few active 8, 9, and 10s with TH outside, so I won't complain, just take their loot. In terms of defense I doubt you will get hit often as most guys down here have barch armies and basically every defense is drop one troop and surrender. Even 40/40 hero max TH10s are skipping my full DE storage just for slower but profitable snipes.

I know this sounds bassackwards, but you can try dropping leagues and then redesigning your base to entice th8 and th7. I have two th8 accounts both with around 25k de each, and I was absolutely steamrolled in the first 24 hours. I then tweaked both and have had better luck not being drained. It's not perfect or bulletproof, but I've won some great shields since then....some without losing any storage or trophies whatsoever (the weaker guy hosed the attack). You just have to hope the lower th guys find you first. I'm down in gold.

I got lucky, started the golem upgrade the day before update, and since the update my attackers have gone mostly after my elixir, only lost 600 DE thus far to raids. My th8 rarely goes raiding for loot, relies heavily on maxed collectors and war loser's bonuses. Edit: currently gold1 league

my mini im not even concerned with especially now. just war with it and collect loot. its a th8..
but my main is luckily done with th8 and going to th9 soon as i up my king one last time which will be later today. thank god! haha. but yeah pbt sucks and needs to go. shield is killing my casual mini tho. i lose around 1.5 or 2k de daily. mind you i only collect or war on it.

I also have a TH8 and TH9 and my TH8 is getting slammed while the TH9 hasn't been hit yet. In the attacks since the patch I've been hit for:

1. 500k gold/elixir, 1750 DE 100%
2. 600k gold/elixir, 1800 DE 93%
3. 450k gold/elixir, 2150 DE 64%
4. 3k gold/elixir (why was a TH7 trying my base with his war army?) 13%
5. 450k gold/elixir, 2150 DE 100%

Except for the 64%, these were all TH9 armies, either giants/healers or gowipe using all their spells and both heroes. The 64% was a max TH8 hog/wiz army using all spells. I mean... does any of that look like a system that is working to you? Yay... so I held off a TH9 army comp from getting 100 and the TH8 only 2 starred me (pathetic showing really)... but when I war it is darn hard to come back from that especially since the targets seem to be drying up compared to pre-patch. Now my BK is maxed so I only need the DE for upgrades... but TH8s have always been easy in war and now if they are saving for anything they are little piggy banks. I guess I'll go to TH9 prior to when I was planning on doing it but that is just so I don't keep getting destroyed by TH9 war armies.

I am getting totally raped by th9s, and only 1 th10 has hit me since the update. The issue I'm experiencing are the th9s that bust in steal what they can and quit at 29% like jerks. Got hit like that nine times in one hour on Friday before a th8 hit me and gave me a shield. Seems like this update brought out the petulant children that were told no candy, so they are going to make everyone else's life miserable while they have their temper tantrum. If this continues I will not have the resources to continue to war or even play. Had I been given a shield my loses would be considerably less.

I love.the update because i raid 3-4 times shielded and recover the losses in the first attack..
Pre and post update I've been doing nothing but use dragon or hog armies to maintain my elixir and dark very low so th 9s wont hammer me.
But I've been able to farm almost all my walls(only 25 walls left to upgrade) with this expensive armies that take less than an hour to cook.
I'm almost done with my walls before my defenses, I've been a th 8 for more than 2 months.
This update has made it better for me because i can revenge more easily a th 9 for 2.5k DE with dragloon zapquake and haste.. And for the th 8s out there, sorry if i hit you harder especially 40hogs, max dragon and giant in cc, 3 heals and 2 poisons, just made it effortlessly for me to crush th 8s and easier to revenge back th 9s.
I'm starting to accumulate loot and need an expensive decoration to spend my elixir and dark on just like the pekka statue when i get filled with gold
