I can only speak to my own experience (thought I presume it would also be the experience for many others), that the update most definitely encourages me to gem more often.

I already used to be a mass gemmer (clan donator/wars), but that was my choice. I chose to do that and "invest" for clan quality of life. I felt good about it.

Post update, to stay ahead, I've been boosting every session and storage raiding. While the bases are pretty garbage, I can still profit with high activity and boosts. I've also been pushed to gem my queen to make storage raids easier and to be able to participate in wars. This pressure did not exist before.

Not only that, boost times were WASTED as a result of both PBT malfunctions and normal functioning. Without indication or self-timing of cumulative play, boosts often get interrupted by the triple kick.

I've also been forced to purchase VG, which I will now also relate to as "10 Gems to save CC troops" because of a kick message right before a war attack.

All of these things make me feel more pressured to buy gems and it doesn't feel good at all. I did not feel pressured in this way before.

Therefore, my current $100 google play balance WILL be withheld from this game as I do not want to fall prey to these kind of game design tactics (greed).

War without heros was already a problem, but I feel like I need my heros to farm and defend more than ever. I was excited to spend this money on the game to continue with donations, hero upgrades, and boosts, but I grow with hesitancy each day without SC announcement, shakiness of economy, community uproar, and staleness of gameplay.

Why are we the customers taking the abuse?

If we a got a huge ammount of people to want change then get you and your friends to change your star rating to one and uninstall the game and hurt em where it hurts theyr greedy wallets and spread the word to stop spending any money on the game until we the customers get a reduced greediness update .. Ima do that now dont take any ♥♥♥♥ from corporations they do not care about the customers ever bottom line

    This is so obvious...

.... only a fool will deny it. In fact, this update didn't really make any difference in their intentions.

Basic economic question: What is the ultimate aim of a firm?
    Answer: To make profit

And Supercell isn't an exception. Money is always a firm's intention.

I'm in the exact same boat as you are. It's ridiculous to have to feeling that you have to buy something.

In a nutshell you are right. It shouldn't be that way, and it's not always is that way. There are companies out there that are actually out there to make this place a better and more enjoyable life. After all that's the point of money. To get things from others that you couldn't get yourself, by exchanging something you earned by doing something for somebody else couldn't do themselves. Those are the companies we need to support. Those are the companies we should spend our money on.

Business are nothing with out there consumers. If we don't buy into them then they won't have anything to abuse us with. I know that it was become a lot more complex in the technology age to do the fact that a lot of people (or companies) have the know the how, the how too, or the resources to achieve such a high standards of what the consumers expect.

It just feels like supercell is manipulating this. Saying they are here for us, for all clashers, that they care. Yet alls we see is evidence of the exact opposite. Reguardless of how good a service is people shouldn't have to subject themselves to this kind of bull ♥♥♥♥.

We shouldn't support these kinds of business practices and allow them to serve so much unjustice. It isn't right. How ever thankfully with the technology age also came the power of reviews, trash talking, mass motivating, and making mockeries out such atrocity. We now have the weapons to achieve a better future for everyone. The only question is, will we use them?

What if supercell is ruining the game on purpose so they can buy back the company at a cheaper price then they sold it for.

Everything they are doing is intentional and incredible thought it. They know they are starving the economy. It's all a ploy to make more money. It will become a wayyyy more pay to win game then before. They want people training armies that take long to cook because it means more people will gem armies. They want a deficiency in loot so people buy it to upgrade there stuff and build armies. I'm assuming they will starve the economy until most reg players (low profitable) quit. It wouldn't surprise me if they do there first ever gem sell sometime soon. Then release pumps and mine right before the addicted people (most lucrative) quit. Bringing back the old people into a new but "seemingly better" clash of clans that minimally requires you to buy more gems. Most casual players will be love with the idea of there being new loot because this is the reason they decided to quit. In this joy they will have no problem spending small amounts of money on it. When in reality alls the mines will be doing is bring the economy back to where it was at and forcing the people who have returned into using better armies. This will create a push and pull. It will give a reward and punishment more then already is. People will feel as though this new reward of loot is great because they are conquering a battle they already lost. (Quiting after the update). This feeling of accomplishment will cause many more to get addicted. Making them spend more money into it. And with it being a more pay to win type of game causing them to spend a lot.

I think there was a reason they extended it out for so long. I think there is a reason the devolpers say we are for the clashers and we love yet do other things. They are taking advantage of our fragile human brains. It is in no doubt the downfall to clash of clans. How ever it won't be the downfall of supercell.

But what do you expect when your playing a game from a company that makes 6 million dollars a day. I can't understand how anyone with half a brain could think that a company as rich as they are and as much time as they had would create a new thing that would starve the economy and ruin the game causing the game to fail. They obviously have the money to have the best marketing minds on this. To assume they didn't anticipate this would be incredibly ignorant.

I could go way more in depth about this but I've already typed wayyy to much. The only thing I don't understand is the terrible personal break system. Is it a way to mess with people's psychies so they think "gee I can only play for three hours straight???" I must do that atleast. Or is it a false flag and a way for supercell to appear to being doing good a deed and fixing it distracting others away from the real issues.
Great thread. I believe they released TH11 to distract us from the real issue of removing free shields from the game.

I have a tough time calling it greed, more like wanting to increase revenues as all companies do.

Where they failed is giving the impression of greed by not balancing cost with player fun...people love to spend money if they are having fun...the update was only fun for people who had the funds to max th11 or got to th11 immediately after update. For the rest of us, not so much.

Isn't that greed though? It's selfish not balance it, and it was to make more money.
