Shields aren't reliable enaugh at th10+. There is much failed attacks which end to 20-29% damage. Still causing loot loss and trap refilling cost to defender.
So new rule:
20-29% damage done and 70%+ of attacker max troops used -> shield 6-8 hours.

If there's going to be a shield for that, I think it should be 12 hours, especially because the attacker put down so many troops.
I actually do agree with this.
If a player wastes his whole army on your base and you are able to defend from it.
you should get a shield nomatter the %age
I actually attacked a th10 yesterday and stole 70% of his available loot. got a 28% (didnt manage to lure the whole clancastle so my giants got shred apart...) but he didnt get a shield from my attack.
so yes i do agree. if you get attacked by lower players or people that dont know how to attack and you manage to defend to 70+% of your attackers army you should get a shield.

There would be also part of league bonus for defender on failed attack under 70% troops used rule...
New shield system is very bad I hate it
Multiple regular members in my clan that spend money on the game regularly are close to quitting because of this new system.
Some people have lives. And strong bases. And spend money on the game. But can't play except maybe an hour a day. If your at a constant loss what is the point? And as stated in above posts. Im one with a mid level 10 base with all lego wall. People can strategically attack me. Get all my de and end the attack. Save there troops. And me not get a shield. Loosing 3000+ de multiple times in a row over night takes quite a bit of play time to get back.
Make the th snipe shield time a lot less. Heck. 5 hours even. But by getting rid of it all together supercell is effectionetly alienating a good percentage of paying customers.
Also if the snipe shield comes back the loot stored in the th needs to change back to what it was in the past.
Actually I think it would be great to keep it a storage but have it offer a shield. Is it worth it to you to get 1/5 of your loot taken for a shield? Or put it inside and defend a proper attack? I'd be all on board for snipe shields coming back as long as the TH remains a storage.
P.S. - I like the changes to this update, except for the huge elixir shortage that is progressively getting worse.
